Title says it all. I think deebos guide also said he had never put a point into strength. Agilty/speed is all he said he went with. Any higher level DE's that did this successfully?

Now understandably without strength you are going to miss some tackles especially against power backs and maybe take a stamina hit during some games but other than that is there a reason to soft cap strength at all?

Deebo's guide, at least originally, was primarily strength based.

As for your question, right now they don't need a ton of strength, especially if playing backup to LDE & RDE, but how much is needed is up in the air. Some people think you only need 30, some people say 50, some people say don't ever even train it.

I have a 30 strength DE with 65 speed and 50 agility that gets pancaked about 15 times a game. You definitely need at least 40 strength.

Some do, some don't. It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

That has very little to do with a lack of strength.

I would agree on due to lack of Strength. Your player in my opinion seems a bit slow and not very agile. I have a lvl 15 DE with 21 strength and almost never gets pancaked even playing against OL a few levels ahead of him. I do not wish to share any other stats.

Depending upon your build is when or if you should hit strength. It depends upon who you talk to if strength will benefit you or not. The only real answer is to try it or not try it and see what happens.

Can you elaborate?

Think of what a speed rusher does in the NFL. Here is an example: Simeon Rice

Simeon Rice couldnt play the run for shit. But the guy can fly around tackles without being touched and made a living eating QB's.

Pending on how well it translate to the game, just focus on speed, agility, and vision. getting your SA's "first step" and "tunnel vision" relatively high. You can just run around them and get to the qb.

Does it really make sense to go all speed, from a football perspective? There's no reason why your DE should be as fast as a WR, you might as well play CB. I wouldn't be surprised if Bort nerfs speed again.

From a football perspective no. From a video game perspective it makes sense to get a lot of speed. I wouldnt say all speed.

In real life, the offensive team would just run at the speedy/weak defensive end all day and gain a ton of yards, since that is not possible, it makes perfect sense to make all speed/agi based DE's

Actually it is possible. You may not be able to do it 100% of the time, but teams can use the AI to force a run between RG and RT a high % of the time. I have seen some claim they can force it 75 - 80% of running plays by setting not only type of rush and rusher, but play distance and primary WR. I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm going to be trying to in the scrimmages.
