Sorry guys, I haven't tried it.

I am just curious if anyone has tried putting a high speed/high agility, perhaps high tunnel vision DE at the DT spot to see what happens? This season its been very hard to get inside pressure and I just wonder what will happen.

My lowly level 17 DE, after talking to my owner, is going to be working out of the DT position tomorrow as a test, but in all honesty its not a very good test since he isn't where I need him to be in strength or TV yet...

Any thoughts? Anyone got some scrimmages coming up and a good DE they wanna try it out with? Anyone wanna tell me I'm a crazy mofo and I talk about stuipid crap like this in my own forum?

I'm just curious what a 50/70/70 strength/speed/agility guy would do inside as I am curious if tunnel vision would help from the inside since high strength DTs still don't do much in terms of pass rushing.

Thank you for that buddy...

I have a 90+ strength DT who does very little on pass plays. So are you saying that an DE at DT would be unsuccessful at pass rushing, just as DTs already seem to be in the traditional mold?

my DT has 85 agility and had 9 sacks on the season this season against equal/higher O-line, if that helps at all

If you want to have some fun, try that DE as a punt returner.

Thank you very much buddy, and it is helpful. Out of curiosity, do you have pretty high speed on that as well?

I look forward to selling my soul trying to recruit your DT in 3-4 seasons my friend.

I already have a kick returning OT that I plan on retiring who is quite awsome. To be honest I find the whole thing rather stupid that the game disregards player weight...

But thx for the suggestion.

Conversely, putting a good pass rushing DT at DE turns them into a crappy DE.

Which explains my first 8 games this season. -_-

The game doesn't disregard player weight. Bort himself has said that it's in the code.

Its because you are attempting to outmuscle a guard and you will lose everytime. Your DT has to bring something to the table that the Guard doesnt to be a good pass rusher. I wont spell it out for you, but dont play the guards game.

I have seen this work. I remember it from season 1. It was a long time ago, but a DE had 3 sacks in OT while playing the DT position. These players were not at the same level as what you are now, but if the G and C have low vision, it can work.
