Coreyls18's Zeta Playoff Round 1 Review!
Rotterdam Shocks the Trolls!
- This game was a dogfight! It was a case of anything you can do...the Roughnecks can do better! MA got a FG, RN got a Fg, Trolls got a TD, RNs got a TD, and so on, until the Trolls got a late FG, and the Roughnecks...did it better! with a 36.5yard TD pass to Go Nagai. A balanced attack from the Roughnecks was easily the deciding factor in this game, and the running attack wore the Trolls defense out. The play of the game is a 3rd and 17.5 for the Roughnecks who convert and 3 plays later score the game winning TD.(http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=134390&pbp_id=8561461)
Game Ball: Rotterdam CB Lock Smith - After giving up one long ball, he quickly turned it around giving up only 4 completions on 11attempts for 40 yards. He also threw in a FF, INT, and 3PD's.
Pull Your Head Out Award: Trolls OT pu shembac - Had strong game with 2 pancackes...but gave up a very costly sack they stalled the Trolls final drive and any attempt at a comeback(http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=134390&pbp_id=8561761)
Scorgasms "Pull Out" an orgasmic win over the Aggies
- Scorgasms continue to prove me wrong! These guys just seem to have confidence through the roof and it definately shows. A balanced attack from the Scorgasms is what helped them win this one. After comign out of the gate with a 14-0 lead, they quickly saw it diminish giving up 17 unanswered points to be down 17-14 at the half. Scorgasms continued to grind it out in the second half and their defense really stepped it upto seal off the aggies for the 4 point win. Play of the game was easily a punt by the scorgasms that turned into a TO. The aggies had a key stop with the game tied, but Joe Williams coughed up the ball on the punt which gave the scorgasms the ball deep in the aggies territory and eventually sealed the game with a TD run.(http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=134391&pbp_id=8561334)
Game Ball: Scorgasms QB Jo' Moxon really played very well off the BENCH, yes off the bench. He definately outplayed the starter(QB Eagles). In his limited action he was 15/20 for 156yards. The thing that makes this more special was the fact that he was hurried 3 times and sacked twice but never let it rattle him and still completed 75% of his passes. Well done!
Pull Your Head Out Award: Aggies RB Super The Squirrel was....well shut down! 10 carries for 9.5 yards and 4 tackles for a loss. Just sad..
HEAT on fire! Win 12th straight!
- This game was actually closer than most people would have imagined. The meatballs knew they were in for it after getting smashed by the HEAT in their previous meeting 41-7 and it was basically Deja Vu all over again. The scoreboard didnt show it but it was definately a lopsided game. The scrappy HEAT defense gave up less than 200 total yards of offense which allowed their defense to stay off the field and stay rested. Play of the game was the 1st of Ed Stinsons 4 sacks. Which was also followed by a sack by fellow teammate Chris Edwars(http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=134392&pbp_id=8558243) In the 2nd half the QBs were pressured constantly and it showed on the scoreboard.
Game Ball: Frankfurt DE Ed Stinson was solid with 5 tackles, 4 sacks(17yards), 1 hurry, and 1 FF. He wore the OTs ass out all game.
Pull Your Head Out Award: Stockholms OLine gave up 5 sacks and 1 hurry. kept their QBs on their toes all game...
Pimps "Bitchslap" the Musketeers AGAIN
- There isnt much to say about this game...It was over at the coinflip. Rivals DE duo of Bundy and Lawrence was all over the Qb and kept the pressure on Paris. Paris was able to pass from time to time, but never able to string together a few scoring drives. They kept coming up short and are now watching the rest of the playoffs from home. Paris was a huge surprise to everyone this season with their great play and expect them to make another run next season. Play of the game goes to the combonation of Pohl and Parker, when they came out of halftime with only a 13 point lead but connected for an 84 yard TD that demoralized the Paris Defense who then gave up 20 more points to finish the game.(http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=134393&pbp_id=8566715)
Game Ball: Rivals WR Preston Parker only had 4 receptions, but one huge one! He was able to find holes deep in the Paris secondary to rack up 106rec yards(21.3YAC) and 1 TD.
Pull Your Head Out Award: Paris QB Christian Soldier had a hangover still from their 1st meeting with the pimps. He finished with 45.5% passing, hurried 5 times, sacked 4 times, and threw 1 INT.
