Phase 1 of the rebuild didn't go so hot.

So we start anew. Releasing all players in offseason, going to go all lvl. 1 CPU, save up all money from season 5 and try to start rebuilding and recruiting anew in season 6.

Bring on the 0-255's!

Wow ... aggressive rebuild ... good way to save cash though. Never really thought of that. Best of luck to you guys

Rebuilding a gutted team may have worked when everyone was around level 15-20, but as everyone reaches 30, it's impossible to do anything without cash.

Stay active in the forums, find some friends, save some money. Can't hurt.

Thanks, good luck to everybody next year (even those in the East that will be pummeling us mercilessly, ha ha ha.

Good idea.....

I replaced 12 inactive players this year.....So it was a littlebit of a rebuilding feeling....But these player were high level players, so I could get money.(even if they are inactive) And with this money you can find players, who are not happy with their franchise and make trades or FAs......But of course this was not a real rebuilding, because I did not get a gutted team....( stadium, some older higher players)

But money is not a bad thing....Good idea. Good luck.

Not really sure what you mean. I'm 1 full season into a complete rebuild of what used to be the Humboldt Harvesters, a bad team that was then gutted. We are now located in Corpus Christi. We will make the playoffs next year. I added none of my own players, except a guy I made as a lvl 1 and he's improved from there. The biggest secrets to rebuilding are spend wisely (don't trade, recruit) and put a top-notch management team in place. Oh, and don't quit. Stick with the progress forward otherwise you will never succeed.

Sly, you give very wise advice. Don't trade, recruit, etc. but no amount of gameplanning can offset the disparity in talent. Wish I had thought about the repercussions of trading cash for starters. I wish you great luck next year, but your team is not making the playoffs without a teams worth of A or AA talent are coming after day 40 and the offseason.

well i will disagree to a point as the Bears will built with a lot of trades with recruiting mixed in and hard work to keep the guys i trade for happy.

Is that the same Bears that we just beat 35-21 with a "disparity in talent" that "no amount of gameplanning can offset"? It should be a given that I'm an excellent recruiter, but we're a pretty scrappy team already. We'll succeed because we know what we're doing, and Mr. can't see anything but failure's team will rebuild, again. Don't mean to be offensive just calling 'em like I see 'em.

Are you combining me and the Bears owner posts? Sure looks like it.

Also, it's the offseason. Teams try out funky stuff in the offseason, offensive and defensive AI settings, switch PT around. Are you really that happy about an offseason win over a 5-11 team, with 3 wins over gutted Eastern teams? Really? Wow.

Also, let's compare where our teams are in season 6 as to which rebuild plan is more successful. For season 5, the Western Conference is brutal, I still don't see your team as a playoff team, I will stand by that.

It`s the same Bears that was screwing around with gameplans and went with different D gameplan and 95% passing. We shall see later on, but yeah i never took a shot at your team once but i`ll have fun blowing your team out this year and for a long time now.

Go for it. Heck you have 9 players on the team in addition to owning it - no wonder you're so sensitive. Still we welcome the challenge, and will whoop your asses once again next time we meet!

How do you like us now? I'm eagerly awaiting the start of Season 6 when you can establish the superiority of your "quit and start over" approach. At this point, it's hard to believe our teams started a rebuild about the same time and that Corpus was in the worst possible situation as a 2 win franchise *prior* to being gutted. But the big difference was we never lost faith in our players or management, and kept at it even though we only won 3 games last season (2 of them in the final 3 games of the season - before that we were 1-12). Little piece of advice - can't never could.

Got 2 half-slowbuild CBs that could use a team next year.
