The one on my team is great; excellent build, boosting owner, custom equipment, everything you could ask for. At the beginning of the season I thought that he would be the top receiver on my team. He is a complete non-factor, has been all season. I have plays with him as the primary target, have the WR/TE percentage at 50/50. Nothing helps.

The owner is mad, thinking there is something I did to de-value him so I doubt he will be back. I wonder has anyone else noticed this?

My best guess is it is due to the defense AI and everybody using cover 2, but I'd like to hear if anyone else has experienced this, and what they think the cause is.

In the cover 2 the LLB covers the TE underneath, then just as the TE gets away from the LB the SS is sitting there waiting for him.

Yes. Also, the sim seems more bias against passing to the TE in the second half of the season. As an owner, I had one game where I cranked up 45% of my base offense to be long or medium TE passes. My #1 TE got 4 passes to him, my #2 got 1. My WR's (who were set to like 25%) got 25 thrown to them.

*shrug* I did better this year, but I believe top TE performers from the past years have done worse.

1)Because tight ends have a harder time getting open this season since everyone defender out there is capping agility/speed while TE's are forced to add points into not only recieving abilities but blocking abilities as well.

2)Not only that, but the TE SA's in the recieving tree are a combo of both posession and speedster WR abilities as well as power running back specials which leads back to #1 listed above.

While Te's have taken a hit this isnt a bad thing. This is actually closer to a real NFL TE where most NFL teams will have the TE be an option but not a primary reciever as opposed to last season.

So they dont suck, they are just fitting their role better. Im just speculating here, take it with a grain of salt.

I have had a worse season, but still a great season nonetheless.

In 14 games this season...

I rank 3rd in my conf. in Recieving yards, 2nd in TD, and about 2nd in YPC.

I have 1148 yards, 12 TD, 13.5 YPC, and only 6 drops.

Mind you, this is an offyear since I am averaging 30 yards less per game, and slightly fewer TDs, but still tops for TE's.

A tight end's success has a lot to do with the quality of the linebackers and safeties he is going against. If he does not have an agility and jumping advantage, he is not going to be very effective in the passing game. Of course, the plays being run are huge factors. Short and medium passes with the tight end as the primary receiver are the tight end's best friends.

My tight end's performance went up substantially in season 4 because the offensive AI allowed the offense to build game plans around the tight end in certain situations.

i have a good TE for lvl 15 and i started at lvl 4 this season. so quiet a jump.
at the beginning he returned every 3rd kickoff or punt for a TD. now he doesn't.

maybe i'm goning for this str/low shoulder thing after softkapping the major skills.
even if it's only minor, but how much effect has jumping and vision?
