I am currently #267 on the waiting list for a team. I am trying to gain ownership of a team for one simple reason. I want to be on a team that is open, honest and treats their players fairly. I have never experienced this with my Level 18 LB'er since coming out of the D-Leagues. Maybe my experience is not the norm, but my fear is that it is....I have altered my build numerous times to fit whatever the coordinator requested, moving equipment custom and otherwise from speed to strength to accomodate where they have me starting. To put a positive spin on it, it has forced me to have a pretty level build. The reality is, I have compromised what I wanted to accomplish long term trying to be a team player, it happens.
I want to build a team that is suited for the long haul. A team where the OC/DC/Recruiters/ ETC are all promoted from within. A team where players want to re-sign to long term deals because the environment is open and friendly and is made up of like minded people who want to win as a team. I want to avoid those who think their player is GOD, or worse yet, think THEY ARE GOD.....is it possible? I don't know, but that is what I want to try to achieve.
If you are of like mind, keep me in mind should I be granted a team this year as I will be trying my level best to seek out these individuals. I assume I will be in a level 13 capped league, but anything is possible. I will tell you that I will consider players of any level (allowable under the cap) if the agent is active and realistic and willing to be part of a team environment.
Could a level 10 start over a 13, its possible if the build is ideal. Will both get playing time? Yes! we all create players to "play". I have had players in situations where they were starters coming in and eventually got kicked to the curb...that will not happen here. I won't allow it, it will be hard, but that is my goal as a new owner to create an environment that is conducive to players flourishing, not trying to eek out a living on the contract so they can get out and move on.
This could be your team, if you want to win long term.....if you have patience, if you want to do it as a team, not as an individual. Look for more to come if I should be awarded a team. Good luck everyone!
