I'm tying to make a hart hitting DT. Look at my guy 74 str. 50 tackling and 5 in "Big Hit" and I still don't have a forced fumble. and I missed 3 tackles last game.
I have a level 21 NT with 37 tackles. Mostly done on Kickoff and punt because he's second string. So most of hits hits are on CB's. I have a 5 in Hard Hitting. Why no Forced Fumbles? Could confidence be a factor in forcing them? Maybe speed?
Above are his stats. What gives? I have a FS that has 2 forced fumbles this year and he has low strength and mid 20 tackling.
The "does this hit force a fumble" calculations probably take into account the speed at which the hit occurs... most fumbles in the pros are caused by high-speed collisions. It's true that sometimes strong players like linemen and LBs can rip the ball free, but more often it's about getting a good run at the player and slamming them hard. DTs just don't cover the sort of space they need to cover in order to deliver those hits.
Are you set to power tackling? Probably not going to cause many (if any) on wrap-up since Bort changed that last offseason. If not, I would try during a scrimmage game and keep wrap up for the playoffs until you can test.
