So its getting close to playoff time, I know that Prague is already gearing up for Week 15 and the Playoffs. But whats left on the schedule for this week?

Alpha

Barger Hill at Kazan
To be honest there arent a lot of good games this week in EE Pro, this is certainly one of the better ones. Barger Hill is 12-0 but has had a few scrapes at home against the 7 and 8 teams in Alpha (that doesnt bode well for the playoffs). Kazan gets 4 playoff teams to end their schedule and honestly I have to ask "who have they beat?" Well they beat the 8th and 9th teams in Alpha and not by much .. but thats really it and now they have to play 1,6 and 7, two of which could leapfrog them with wins. This is a brutal stretch for Kazan and they have to hold on or they could drop to a lower seed in Alpha and face a potential 1st round playoff game with Barger Hill or Dubrovnik, neither of which any team wants. I believe that Barger Hill will win this game, as I said at the start of the season, their team has too much quality depth and high levels not to be competitive, their losses last season came from good pass defenses, this season pass defenses got hit with the nerf stick and Barger Hill is flourishing.

Dubrovnik at Hungarian
200-0, the game is no story.
What is a story? Dubrovnik has this last easy game, then move into a stretch against 3 playoff or close caliber teams. Their schedule actually gets harder as it goes on, they have Alpha#9 Sarajevo, then Alpha#3 GCP and then LRC which would be one of the top 3 in Alpha. The week 15 game between Dubrovnik and GCP is huge, but Dubrovnik gets a MUCH harder Week 16 game, which means that they MUST win the Week 15 game to ensure that even if they lose to LRC, they are ahead of GCP and secure #2.

Couch Potatoes at Red Army Regulars
Maybe the most exciting game in EE Pro this week, though as a Zeta guy Im also really interested in Cincinnati at Greek. This game is Alpha#3 at Alpha#4 but coming off a humiliating defeat at Alpha#9 Sarajevo last week, there are a lot of questions in the RAR camp. No there wasnt public bickering like Fanatix players, but one must wonder how a team battling for a top spot just gets shut down by a team that will have to get lucky to get into the playoffs. The RAR play GCP, then Vilinus (who still hasnt boosted), Washington and Helsinki .. Id say that if their game is on they could win all of those games, but GCP starts things out and they will probably be the hardest team .. no disrespect to Helsinki .. who right now is a very talented team without a rudder. I figure that the RAR will beat Washington ... but the others are really dicey, though 10 wins might put them in a tie with NFL. GCP should win 12 games by my estimation, if they win 14, they will certainly be the #2 team in Alpha. Again their playoff placement really hinges on Week 15 at Dubrovnik. As for the game, I believe that GCP should win this one, they are a consistent team who pretty much does what you expect them to do (minus the loss to NFL), I favor consistency over the up and down of a team like the RAR.

Demon Brigade at East Alabama
This isnt a game, no it isnt 200-0, its maybe 50-7, but still .. Demon Brigade is an established team with good talent and East Alabama is well .. a ferry and most of the passengers get off Day 40. So whats the story here? The story is that the Demon Brigade has a soft schedule, but where is the team that blew out NFL Week 3? While the Demon Brigade will end up with at least 11 wins and possibly 12, facing a Kazan team fresh off a likely loss to Barger Hill, the real question to them is .. can they beat an elite team? The answer so far this season is .. hell no! 25 to Barger Hill, 26 to Dubrovnik and 13 to GCP says that they really arent there yet. Its highly likely that the Demon Brigade gets the 4th seed in Alpha, but the question is .. if they beat out #5, do they really have a chance in round 2? That wont be answered until the playoffs, unless they can just stomp a mudhole in Kazan next week, which I dont see happening. Maybe I can be proven wrong?

NFL at Fortmill
This is also not a game, it will be 100-0 at least. So lets look at NFL, who should make the playoffs. They will end the season with at least 10 wins, given the softness of their schedule and the fact they had good luck with their Zeta draw. The only challenging game remaining is at Kazan, which is lucky for them, because Kazan will be coming off two weeks of tough games versus Barger Hill and the Demon Brigade .. both of which could be losses for Kazan and snowball into 3 losses with NFL being a solid team. However, that doesnt say that NFL is really great .. besides 1 upset against GCP and playing Barger Hill closer than anyone this season .. they still havent shown that they can just beat on an opponent. A tight loss to the RAR and tight win against unboosted Vilinus shows that they belong in the 2nd tier of Alpha behind the top 3, very similar to the Demon Brigade. Again similar to the Demon Brigade, the only chance that they have to show that they can really hang with the big boys is if they can stomp a mudhole into Kazan .. which I also dont see happening. For this team consistency is an issue .. the team seems to have knee jerk reactions to what occurs in games and there has been infighting on the team. If they end up at the 5th or 6th seed, can they beat their opponent? Im not sure, they need to beat Kazan, get the 5th seed and hope they get a good game against the Demon Brigade in the 1st round, for the "privilige" of playing Barger Hill.

Vilinus at Washington
As I said a couple of weeks ago, Vilinus must be pretty confident because they are still unboosted and to get into the playoffs they will need 10 wins, as Sarajevo should have 10 wins, considering that there are 6 non-competitive teams in Alpha this season. To get 10 wins Vilinus is going to have to beat the RAR or Scotch .. which I can assure them that the RAR will be an easier target. I believe that they will beat Washington however as the Chairmen just havent been putting up much of a fight this season against good teams and should end up with 7 wins, the 6 non-competitive Alpha teams and 1 gutted Zeta team.

Sarajevo at Minsk
This wont be a game, Minsk isnt even capable of keeping it with any real Alpha teams, which is strange because they have the players to do it. So lets talk about Sarajevo, they have a soft schedule and will have 10 wins, their upset last week of the RAR showed they can still do what they have always done, run the ball and play defense and rack up stats against gutted teams and they will get their chance to do that the next 4 games with the exception of Dubrovnik, who will stomp them down. Their wins and losses this season show that they are in the 2nd tier of Alpha, along with the RAR, NFL, Demon Brigade, Vilinus and Kazan, but they also have yet to show that they can play with the real power teams this season. They have an outside shot of getting a playoff spot, if Vilinus doesnt win 10 games, then Sarajevo is in, simple as that. If Vilinus wins 10 games, Sarajevo is out, unless maybe NFL only wins 10 games, then it would come down to points, which Sarajevo is behind both Vilinus and NFL. We will have to see how this goes down, because mostly it hinges on Vilinus.

NY Knights at Chaos Theory
While holding onto CTs players, his former team has kept things very competitive against teams who underestimate them. In fact CT could win 2 more games this season, but they have the unfortunate luck of having both the first place alpha and zeta teams left on their schedule, which will be teeball for the conference leaders. CT should win this game, as NY is just a bad team, with their levels they should be more competitive than they are .. but they only beat two teams who were gutted this season and those will be their only two wins .. that will be enough to keep them in EE Pro this season unfortunately and will give Alpha another team that plays well below their potential for next year, as has been typical of that conference. The story here is that CTs team is all on Day 40 except for CTs former players ... who all wont be of a competitive level next season and likely this team will go back on the trash heap.

Zeta

Bora Bora at Dubai
The loss at Helsinki really showed where the Brawlers are this season, Helsinki is not playing like they did last season nor is Bora Bora. Helsinki has management issues right now and Bora Bora made their move and return, only to have a few pieces missing. This game against Dubai could be really interesting for me because Id love to see what a power running game can do against Dubai, I think that Bora Bora has 2 excellent HBs, they break tackles and they have 1 really good WR. I dont think it will be enough to take down Dubai of course, but I will certainly watch every play of this game. The tight win last week over the Greek Fire also shows how fast the Greek Fire has come up in Zeta, having a competitive game against an established team with old talent and similar chemistry levels. Lets look at the schedule here on out, for Bora Bora, they have two interesting games left IMO, Leningrad and Kazan, I think that both of those games are possibly winnable. Leningrad shouldnt have more than 8 wins, and well Bora Bora has a hold on 7th place and probably cant go any higher. Dubai has this game against Bora Bora, which they should win, a game at Cincinnati which they should win .. and then comes Week 15, the game that Im waiting for, the first real game of a mostly boosted Prague .. though I think a few guys will still wait until after Week 16. Dubai could go undefeated, there is only one real team with a chance to slow them down. They are the 1 seed no matter what in Zeta.

Belgrade at SGA
200-0? This could be a stat game for SGA if they want it to be. Belgrade should beat Szolnok to get 3 wins this season, but thats it. SGA should finish 15-1, Helsinki hasnt shown anything lately that would say that they can pull a surprise and beat SGA, though its possible, Helsinki is a good team, they just need someone who has a grasp of tactics to get back in control, because this is not the Helsinki we saw last season. Of course the Helsinki we saw last season lived and died by pass defense and this season DBs got crapped on, so its hard for them to adjust. Anyhow .. SGA rolls to the playoffs as a 2nd seed, there is no one that can stop that, they get a little extra money, which they dont need and yeah .. they probably wont have a real game until the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Prague at Moscow
Also not a game, tyrant is also mad at yall for asking him to set up tactics so you can rack up stats how you want. Prague has 1 real game left, while Greek is somewhat competitive in a 3rd tier (Zeta, dont get confused with the 3rd tier of Alpha, which is just miserable), they wont stand a chance against a mostly boosted Prague. The game that will matter .. somewhat at least for Prague is Week 15 against Dubai .. because that will determine Prague's playoff spot, they will go 13-3 at the worst and 14-2 at the best. Their playoff spot will be 3 to 5, just depending on how Scotch and LRC does, if there is a 3 way tie at 3rd, then its possible to slip to 5th, but honestly 3rd means something different, 4th or 5th doesnt because its a 1st round game against whoever anyhow.

Chernobyl at Scotch
The Mutants' chemistry is coming along nicely, but the talent to compete is just not there. Scotch has some serious talent, especially at WR and QB and I believe for the most part they are unboosted, which is quiet scary, much like when Prague boosted. When Prague boosted it doubled the number of L30 players in EE Pro, when Scotch boosts it will increase the number again by 25-30%. This team is the reason that you dont want to be in the 4th/5th seed in Zeta. Their schedule looks like 12 wins at least with 13 possible, it will determine if Vilinus needs to beat them or not to get into the playoffs, if neither team boosts for Week 16, Id favor Scotch for certain and if both teams boost, Im not sure, they are both very good, but Scotch will still have a big level advantage (3ish). Scotch could tie for 3rd place with Prague if LRC also wins out. By virtue that Prague beat Scotch, Scotch beat LRC, and LRC beat Prague, it would come down to points. Which of course Scotch has a 200 point lead in over the two other teams. So it is quite possible that Scotch ends up at 3rd place, setting up a 2nd round game between Dubai and Scotch in a battle of the passing teams.

Lafayette at Helsinki
I know Ive talked a lot about Helsinki in this post, but lets talk a little more. PLEASE WIN THIS GAME Helsinki! If LRC loses, Prague has #3 wrapped up, no matter what. Sure there is also Week 16, where LRC needs to lose one of those two games to help me, but Helsinki you can do it .. okay really. This should be a good game, both are good teams. With the slight morale hit from last week against SGA, its possible that LRC overreacted and Helsinki can take advantage over it. But LRC is a good team and shown that they can compete with the best. They still have 2 real solid games to play, as I already mentioned, but at worst they end 11-5, best they end 13-3 and a likely 5th place, just like they are now. Losing to Helsinki could actually mean a 6th place, depending on how the schedule shakes out, because Helsinki also has to play SGA next week and then a competitive RAR in Week 16 (which I think Helsinki can win). I figure that the edge in this game goes to LRC, because they have shown that they can really win games this season and kept it close or beat everyone except for SGA, the issue is of course that was their last game, which is why I said they might overreact or have bad settings now.

Szolnok at Leningrad
No game to see here, Szolnolk, Fortmill and Hungarian are the teams battling to be the worst teams who seem to be trying in EE Pro. Leningrad has 8th place locked up, Cincinnati has a brutal schedule to say the least, so there will be no threat from below. The only issue is that they will play Cincinnati's role in the playoffs, which is .. good enough to get in, but bad enough for a quick exit at the hands of Dubai. The closest they have played a playoff team was 16 points to LRC, thats it. Thats competitive, but not winning and having to play Bora Bora and GCP right before the playoffs, and likely losses, wont help the morale.

Cincinnati at Greek
This is the most interesting game of the day for me, this is a real measuring stick of how far the Greek Fire has come this season. Last week the Fire kept in within 13 to Bora Bora, who beat Cincinnati by 42. Of course football doesnt work that way, but I believe this will be a close game and with some luck Greek could come out on top. I know that sounds crazy, Cincinnati has levels, they have some elite talent .. but it just seems that they have problems that are more than levels. demonicangel came back to help out recently, and maybe Kenyon swallowed his pride, I dont know, because I know that demonic left due to some issues with opinions on tactics and the like. Anyhow .. if Cincinnati stomps Greek, that means something got fixed over there .. because they did play Helsinki close a few weeks ago, if Greek wins .. there are still huge problems and Im not sure if they can be fixed, because this team SHOULD win. With the schedule Cincinnati has, this is their best chance at a win the rest of the season.

Silesia at Transylvania
This isnt a very exciting game, neither of these teams are horribly competitive, but Silesia should be favored in this game. Silesia has full chemistry, Transylvania has almost none .. Prague's FB ran for almost 500 yards and 12 TDs against Transylvania last game, they have issues with tackling .. Silesia actually doesnt have such a problem, they just dont have much talent, they are still attempting to recover from their Season 2 mass banning and their inhernant language problems, as they are Polish I believe and their english is not very good, so its even harder to recruit. Silesia could end up with 4 wins and earn at least 1 more season in EE Pro, while Transylvania has this final chance at a win, and then it gets ugly. Week 16 you can be sure that Sarajevo is waiting to run up stats on a cupcake.

You should've seen the private forums..

Its all good though, all the agents have "known" each other from over at Fanatix for the last few years so the fighting isn't a big deal. Just getting warmed up for the real football season.

Nice write up Randy.

Reapers did put some pressure on us with their at least on our parts unexpected win over RAR so that forces us to win either RAR or Scotch and of course still take care of business vs the Chairmen who can still beat a team if they put it together so aint taking them lightly either.

Our team is close nit and just about to a man are willing to miss the playoffs this season in order to get as much xp as possible. We still got a great shot to get in but will be saddled with the 8 seed and a tough matchup even once boosted.

Last season we expected a season of lumps in order to catch up to the competition and to our surprise we still rolled unboosted and was able to work our way into the Pro's so it looks like this may be the year to take the lumps in order to help catch up and we are ok with that if it comes down to it.

We still feel confident we can get into the playoffs but wont be jumping off any buildings if we dont.

We are looking forward to today's game against a tough Bora Bora team that seems to match up really well against us. We're trying to stay focused on the game at hand, we can't afford to overlook anyone, and we won't!

Good Luck to them today!

Interesting deal .. yes .. next year ideally if you are going to go that route, you would also boost later (at 29). Because most of your team even after it boosts this season wont hit 29, so you could sop up a few 100 extra XP that the rest of us wont get next season as well.

Har we won by 300 .. I guess I cant make fun of Sarajevo for beating up on scrubs now.
