Sorry if this has been posted already, I didn't see any related threads. If so, bump.

Has anyone tried maxing out Lower Shoulder yet? I'd like to test this out, but I'd have to first refocus a lot of SP into strength to justify it. And I'd hate to waste a level 28 player if the benefit doesn't meet the cost (40 SP into lower shoulder alone to get it to 10, I think). I remember a Bort post/interview where he said once a player maxes out their 5th SA, watch out, so the experiment has me intrigued.

10+1 yeah. And with the strength and lower shoulder thing you better be committed to taking it all the way when you go for this. You may get to 5 in LS and be thinking "man that isn't really enough broken tackles" and you'd be right, you need to take it all the way to 10 or 10+1 to really see this build shine.

Part of the problem is no TE is really going to touch the ball more than 5 times a game and they're being tackled by strong safeties the whole time, so you really have to max out strength and lower shoulder to start having an effect.

The good news is that once you bowl over that SS you generally have a surefire TD, but you better be 100% committed to bowling over that SS for it to work out.

I was wondering the same thing... (how good a special-built lower shoulder/strongman TE
would work) I will create one in the next few days... any tips on what stat-levels I should roll for on important ones like Strength, Carrying, and Agility/Speed? This will be the first TE I've created and I want him to be a good one... I know it will take quite a while (18-20th level?)before he starts to really gel with the Str/Lower Shouldr
combo...I wanna see him bowl over two or three guys on his way to the endzone. LoL
So I'm thinking softcap Str first(or go for 2nd softcap?)... then Speed, Agility,and Carrying in that order...(?) then put the pts in the SA tree to get Lwr Shoulder up to at least 8...think that looks like a good plan... ? Is that theoretically do-able by lvl 20? (2nd softcap str/ 1st softcap speed/agility/carrying/and SA tree pts... prolly get catching up to at least 30's also... not sure if softcap necessary there...)

interesting information - what will it costs in skill points to get lower shoulder to 10?

1+1+2+2+3+3+4+4+5+5 = 30pts, or 6 levels.

not to mention getting the stats before it to 1 2 3 5.

Plus it's the furthest to the right, so add another 10 pts. 50 pts total to get the tree to...

1-2-3-5-10

(or 2-3-4-6-11 with equip)

and dont forget that carrying now helps you break tackles too .....

I've thought about trying this with my tightend. I'm going to hit the first caps in strength, speed and agility and put all equipment in strength. After that I will train carrying and put points into lower shoulder.

That's only for the first 4 SAs in a tree. The 5th one costs more. I don't know how much at the higher levels, but the 1st point that goes into it costs 2 instead of 1.
