Depends really on the type of defense your running, the type of plays the offense is running, whether your build is any good, and how often your defense is on the field. All in all though I'd say about 60+ tackles is about average though.

It really depends on what type of LB you are.
LOLB is known as the one that gets the most stats since most plays goes his way and as thus are often overrated due to statpadding. PD is really a better measurestick for LOLBs.
MLB gets less then then LOLB.
ROLB gets the least tackles

I have an MLB with 56 tackles through the 12 games. He's a pretty nice build for stopping the run, and last game he had 10 tackles alone.

it very much depends on the defense and the game plan. Our defense runs a certain way, that leaves the LBs with almost no tackles. I've ran my build by peaple, and said that on any other team, i'd be getting around 100 tackles if not more, but instead i'm getting in the 20s maybe 30s if i'm lucky... by the end of the year.

Also if you play on a good offenseive team or a team with great run D opponents my go into the game thinking they have to throw to have a chance at winning.

44 tackles this season, mostly as ROLB, 9 PD also, and 12 PD last season when I was mostly LOLB and had 72 tackles.

LOLB gets all the fucking glory...
But my ROLB still gets pretty good production considering.
He's also the best built on the team - as far as attributes go...SAs haven't been touched yet.

Everybody likes their LB as the best on the club. Unfortunatley some DC's don't agree - mine being 1 of them, lol

There's more to it than just tackles. If your backer is getting too high a #, then your defense has too many holes...
I prefer a +/- success rate of defensive stops while my backer is on the field (think hockey +/-). If my player is taking up blockers, cutting/angling off gaps, or covering out a checkdown receiver---that gives someone else the opportunity to make a tackle or play for a stop, which is just as useful as a personal tackle.
