The Playoff race is starting to heat up. This week sees the top 4 teams playing each other in two matchups. #1 vs. #4 and #2 vs. #3. The top four spots should have a much clearer picture tonight. The other battle is the fight for #7 and #8. There are 6 teams at 5-5 and 4-6 and its anybodies ballgame for those last two spots.
The Elite 4:
Honolulu Beach Boys: Tonight will be a huge test. A win tonight And a top 2 spot is all but assured with only the ceremonial game against the Thunder remaining. A loss and that game against the Thunder takes on much more importance.
Timpanagos Thunder: The Thunder also have a huge game. A loss today would do the same for the Thunder as it would the Beach Boys. The Thunder need to be prepared.
Possum Trot Plague: A win today puts them into the Top 2. I know the Plague is excited about the opportunity and the question is can they take advantage and unseat the Thunder?
Long Beach Dub-Allstars: What can I say, they just keep winning. Tonight is their biggest match remaining. A win would be huge for the AllStars. I know they are not backing down and they believe they can win this game. I expect a hell of a performance and this may be the night the top four sees some shakeups.
The 5-6 seeds:
Eugene Slugs: The Slugs are facing a trap game tonight against the desperate Hitmen. Will they fall in?
Mighty Chihuahuas: The Mighty are one game ahead of the mess for 7th and 8th and believe me they need to stay there if they want to ensure a playoff spot. A loss could be devastating since this mess at the bottom looks like its going to come down to some tiebreaker situations and nobody wants to be sitting at home based on points scored or something ridiculous like that.
Now this is where the funs at:
Virginia George Washingtons: Still holding strong at #7 but they need to keep winning and see a few losses for key teams before they can breathe easy.
Birmingham Bears: They climbed their way into the last spot but I have a feeling it will be a short stay.
Aurora Seminoles: The last of the 5-5 teams. Tonight is a big game. A win puts 2 games between them and the Toxins, a loss and they fall behind Houston in the tiebreaker.
Houston Toxins: A loss would be devastating, a win would move them up at least ahead of one team maybe more. I would suggest winning...
Dallas Hitmen: Dallas is going to need to pull off a big upset over Eugene or last weeks victory over Chicago may have been too little too late.
Chicago Inferno: Supposedly Left for dead, if this is true...its over.
Next season looks better:
Montana Crow: It looks like win #2 is on the horizon for the first time in Franchise History!!!
Palmetto Bugs: I think they can upset the slighty better talent wise Mountain lions.
Minnesota Mountain Lions: They are done with the Lancers so looks like business as usual.
Lakewood Lancers: Im tired of typing this
Matchup of the Week:
PTP vs. Thunder
Its not often that #2 and #3 play each other this late in the season and it should make for an excellent game. I expect a hard fought game and it could be a nailbiter.
