does this only concern passing plays?

Would you adjust this according to how you think your opponent will pass, or would you also make adjustments if your opponent has primarily a running team?

You sure about that? Im not sayign I knwo im just curious. I am pretty sure it has to do with how far the CBs play off the WR and when they make their break.

It's how deep the "zones" are for players playing zone.

If you're 100% man to man and not using any advanced defense AI, it is how deep your safeties are. (Default is a cover 2)

mattman - if you tinker around with AI, you can set it such that you can prove it to yourself.

I know this to be fact because when I set my AI to cover 1 shell , coverage distance long, my FS lines up 10 yds off the ball and retreats to 20 yds off the LOS. If its set to cover 1 , medium, he's about 7 yds off and backs off to around 12 yds off the LOS. Set to short........you get the idea. He's in with the LB's and pretty much backs up only when covering someone.

Yes, wasn't said by anyone, just from experience using it.
