Which do you think is more important for a coverage CB?

Fancy meeting you here lol. I'd say change direction DJM, I've got a coverage CB on another team thats doing well. I say change direction because the WRs and TEs I think have a run route special ability to help run crisp routes. Whether your playing 5 yards back or right up on him you want to be able to keep with him and not get faked out. Also if your vision is high, you want to be able to react to where the play is going as fast as possible.

ha, yeah I've seen you posting here..I usually just lurk this forum.I'm trying to decide where to allocate the 5 new skill points from the level-up during last night's win. I was leaning change direction myself but figured I'd get a little input from some others first. Check out my build if you get a chance and post in our forum or pm me or something if you have an opinion..I was thinking a couple in jumping, maybe one in catching and a change direction...
Change direction. As long as you have 50+ agility, your acceleration and the fact that you start a few feet off of the receiver regardless of your coverage setting will keep you from getting beat. But change direction will help once you both get going and the wr tries to beat you on his route. I think first step would be most helpful for a KR/PR since they start from a dead stop when they catch the ball.

First Step IMO. You shouldn't need either to cover your receiver, and the extra acceleration will help more on the long-range plays that you might be able to get into.

Not necessarily true at all, CBs in coverage need a quick first step before anything else.

When you go for a pick, its usually breaking out of a dead-stop hence the need ofr a quick first step.

that wasnt what he was talking about.
he was saying that first step helped your CB actually attempt a pick, not catch up to the WR if he misses. CBs have to be able to back pedal and come out of their back pedal very quickly in order to be able to jump on a route. Hence why First step would appear to be a great fit.
