This completely unrelated to GLB. I have the 7th pick (12 total teams)in an upcoming Fantasy draft. Do you think thats too early for M. Jones-Drew? We snake top to bottom, bottom to top draft order so there is a chance he might be available with the 17th pick...

Anyone else think Jones-Drew is worthy of the 7th pick or is that just way too high?

jones drew is NOT worthy of that high of a pick. And for you to even be thinking to pick him that early, my guess is you will select a horrible team and finish in the bottom of the standings

Coreys subtlety is unrivaled. I think MJD is a very good sleeper pick because Fred Taylor is 32 and is going to drop off big time soon. Might be this year or next so it is a risky pick and prolly not worth a 1st.

I don't even necessarily disagree with Corey. I just hate taking a QB in the 1st round. And don't like McGahee, Gore, Grant, Johnson, Portis, Parker or Lynch that much. Those being the backs most likely still available at 7.

It'll go...
LT
Peterson
Westbrook
Jackson
Addai
Brady
?

I'll probably end up with Manning. But I would be interested to hear what RB Corey thinks is that much Better than Jones-Drew that will still be available...

Gore, Moss, Jackson, Portis, Barber, Lynch, TO, Johnson, McGahee, Grant, Wayne, Romo, Parker, Edwards are all better picks than MJD at #7.

M J D is not a first rounder to build on that list Gore Manning Brees Moss Romo Braylon ect... come way before maurice.... MJD had a great year 2 seasons ago but you never know between him and fred who'll have the big game...

not parker... the man rushes for 1300+ yards a year and only get you 5 td's

Well I have my answer... Everyone so far has said its too high, and that was my initial conclusion as well. I just have a feeling dude breaks out this year for 1000 rushing 800 receiving ala Brian Westbrook.

I'll hope he's available at 17 when my 2nd pick comes up.

true, but the year before he had 13 TD's. Im not saying a top 5 pick, but I would take Parker before MJD. If were going by last years stats, Gore only had about 800 yards rushing and about 5 TD's. I never understood what all the hype was with Gore either..

All of this is again based on my assumption that JAX has a huge year, and Jones-Drew breaks out. I agree that based on PREVIOUS production 7 is too high...

Definitely agree w/Capn on Gore. He seems like a sucker bet to me.

take barber if he is there at 7. Is going to have a monster year! Also look to pick up braylon edwards in the first 2-3 rounds.

Draft will probably look like this:

1- LT
2- AD
3- Westy
4- Jackson
5- Addai

From here it gets a little tenuous. If #6 picks, say, Gore or McGahee or Portis, I would jump on Brady and worry about your RBs in the next rounds.

If #6 goes with Brady, I would take a serious look at Moss but, personally, I would most likely go with Barber. I think he's going to have a huge year, especially in the red zone.
