John Pepper, newly signed kicker for the Aulkand Flames has been injured in what most would call a “freak accident.” Pepper was visiting some friends and family in Dallas, Texas when he heard a kid screaming from a distance. Astonished, he needed to find out what was going on. The further he made it down the street… the louder the screams got. As he approached a house on Freebie Lane, he realized which house it was coming from. When he made his way into the house, he knew why the little boy, 8 year old Dustin Hernandez, was screaming. Miami Dolphins star kicker Orlando Mare had just booted the possible game-winning FG. Watching the replay, all John Pepper could think about was “Laces out Dan!” He ran out of the house, and kicked the mailbox as hard as he could, severing his femoral artery. John Pepper is expected to miss all of this year’s off season, but should be back for the first game of the season. When asked why he kicked the mail box, he stated “I’m a kicker. It’s all I know how to do. You see something tragic happening, and you just start kicking away. Unfortunately, this time there was no ball, no tee to kick from. The mailbox won this match.”
