Who has the highest catching?
My WR only has 49, but I'm looking to get it up to 60 (without equipment).

Which WR do you have 49 catch on? How has his catching helped your build?

My catching is also 49.something on my big guy. Pretty much I think it extends the range of balls you can catch, not just how many you drop. No proof though.

My level 17 WR Lucius Levin. Well he catches almost all balls thrown his way, gets about 8 receptions each game and 3 drops so far this season. He even caught a pass in triple coverage.

What's vision at?

I ask because I have 30 catching, my QB has 33 strength. out of 8 throws to me, I got 3 catches, 2 drops, 1 incomplete (didn't say a reason), and 2 swatted away. Does catching help you not get the ball deflected and does it help those incomplete passes or is that my QB's fault and just a superior DB?

I want to raise my catching because it seems it'll help, but my vision is at 20 so I'm not sure if I should raise that instead. Considering I got targeted 8 times against an evenly matched if not superior team tells me I don't have trouble getting open, I just want the ball to land in my hands now.

Also, at lower levels is sticky hands a better investment, or is raising catching?

DW, I'm having the same problem. I get 7-10 looks a game and the drops, deflections, incompletions are probably about 70% of things thrown my way. Is your agility under 30?

I'll just post my build, I'm not shy :-p:

Strength: 8 Blocking: 9
Speed: 50.07 Tackling: 8
Agility: 50.64 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 18.64 Catching: 30.05
Stamina: 21.6 Carrying: 16.91
Vision: 20.55 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 17.26 Punting: 8

Poss. 10000
Spds. 11111<CE

My first look was a drop so I think that's the cause of the second drop. What I don't understand really is the deflections.. I figure my catching is high enough (for my level range anyway) to grab onto the ball regardless of a good defender. Maybe it's a jumping issue though, I dunno.

As you can see our QBs went 4 out of 16 and 8 out of 15.. Pretty horrible. I'd like to improve those numbers.

Edit: Maybe it was a morale issue for our QBs? or maybe just a good defense

Catching does help with swats, targets, and drops. You can up this information in the Bort Stalker thread or similar.

Catching for the basic ability to know what you're doing when the ball is thrown to you. Similarly to a punter having high punting before he worries about strength or vision, it would define the character's logic and knowledge of how catches work.

Vision, I assume will also let you know when in your route the ball will reach you and therefor improve your ability to catch it.

Agility should have an effect on how well you move your body after noticing the ball to turn and catch it without having to slow too much or lose your rhythm to do so.

Doesn't look like that Defense had a ton of PD's against you guys, some, but not a lot. If you add the drops back into the QBs completions, they would have had pretty good games. I don't think its a moral issue. I would say it is still really early in your build to start trying to find what exactly is off. You could just say he is hitting puberty lol. However you do need some work on both jumping, and vision. Another huge factor in this is your confidence. You might wanna train that if your getting a lot of drops. Maybe even drop a point or 2 into it if it is getting any worse. With it being so low, the WR's just keep getting worse after each drop.

Scrim game just earlier (after the example I showed earlier)

I switched my running style to combo since it was a scrim and wouldn't negatively affect my season if it failed, and my YAC went up by 4 average points+
Also landed more of the catches, though that could be attributed to something else of course.
The team beat us, but:
WR Les Currothers 33 plays 6 rec 89 yd 14.8 avg 6.2 yac 1 TD 2 drop 0 fum 0 fuml
I did pretty well

beautiful, if you ask me

Oh, and
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=125049&pbp_id=3932282
I have 8 strength, and those are the first two broken tackles this character has ever made.

31 vision. I think 30 is a good thing to aim for, going beyond that too early seems like a waste.

I switched MY run style to power for the next game lol we will see what happens.

WR Les Currothers 30 plays 4 catches 90.5 yards 22.6 AVG 13 YAC 1 TD 0 0 0

Scrim today against a WAY higher level team, I did best out of all WRs on both teams.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=125337&pbp_id=4081725

We pretty much got shit on otherwise though... their kicker was doing touchbacks, their returners were getting touchdowns, etc
