I'm starting to get really frustrated by letting the QB's throw so many god damn long balls and just watching the DB's fail to cover, over and over...and over again. Maybe it's probably the recent changes to the passing game, and iv'e been looking around in the other pro-leagues, seems like everyone has the same problem on Defense.

I'm gonna end up like Deacon Jones after this season, FuĪ%ing hate all QB's. >

I dunno, my DB's did pretty good today.

Against my better judgement, I'll say this - check your DB's interception style. Aggressive used to mean a ridiculously high % of interceptions at the risk of occasionally being beat.

Now it means that you have a slightly higher % chance of an interception, but you lose any chance to deflect the ball, and most chances of making the tackle.

YMMV.

I think the issue is that all the positions can still be as good as they were last season, but they radically changed the mix of what it takes to be so effective. Problem for the higher level guys is that going up levels is so slow that it takes forever to adjust. We have lots of players that were studs last season and are total gimp this season. there are lots of guys out there that used to be crappy and are now superstars. Just have to figure out whats wrong and fix it as quickly as possible, even if that takes all season (as it will for some of our guys).

Exactly. Weīre having trouble, with some guys having to adjust big time, and itīs going to take all season. Plus the adv tactics donīt seem to have been worked out by everyone yet. But Iīm not for whining because it wonīt get you anywhere. Man up and adjust.

But the question is, after all this adjustment this season, will we be thrown for another loop (and thus have all the work thrown out the window) this off season when people lobby Bort for changes ... or when the offensive AI finally catches up.

IMO itīs pretty obvious that Bort needs to (a) get some help with the programming and (b) get some kind of system in place to filter the bitching and whinging. Itīs very noble to try and deal with peopleīs complaints, but to just keep adjusting the sim on the fly, mid-season and without sufficient testing is going to cost him a lot of customers, beta-mantra or no beta-mantra.

BTW in reality games are no longer beta when they start accepting money from customers.

The biggest thing is that, as we know, at the higher levels you level up so slowly that it will take a very, very long time to realign your skills.

Totally -- which has me concerned slightly about over-doing the adjustments with my builds to suit this season, when next season they could be rendered moot.

However, most of our guys are pretty balanced, so it's not a big swing either way for us. Then again, we have been getting slaughtered recently, so maybe we're more out of whack than I realize.

Whether this is Beta or not, Bort can make changes like this all day, and you all would still LOVE this game. If Bort made Punting important for runningbacks, I'd STILL buy the flex points and pump my RB full of Punting points. The game may not be perfect, but there is NOTHING else like this on the internet.

So what if our characters become less dominant? It just makes things more challenging for us. That should be a good thing.

I dont know that anyone said they didnt like the game or was having a ragequit. Its possible to like a game but recognize things that could be done better. You dont have to drink the coolaid to be a big fan. (but if you do, go with grape it hides the metalic arsenic aftertaste)

thats all i ever see on the other forums...

and while i do recognize things could be done better, thats part of the acknowledgment that this IS, indeed, a beta. im happy to know that the money im paying for flex points is going into more servers, and making the game better.

i think Bort envisions this game the same way we all do... the only problem is that some players are unable to accept anything less than their own dominance. therefore, if we suck, its because the game sucks.

i personally dont mind the changes that bort makes, even if it nerfs my CB. at least now, it looks like GOOD offenses are able to move the ball, and good defenses are still able to create turnovers. you have to admit that last season was heavily weighted toward defenses. this season is a lot more balanced.
