Speed does not help throwing in any way. Strength effects velocity of the pass.

I believe aid misunderstood the question. JD isn't asking about velocity, he's asking about release time. Byron Leftwich vs. Peyton Manning = 1 second release time difference, but I bet Leftwich can throw it just as hard if not harder, so, not a strength issue. It's an interesting question since QB's get speed and agility on level ups. Is it just for avoiding pressure? Or does it effect the throwing motion?
I do not know, seems like it would be a hard thing to test since we don't know when throws start, or if it's even a variable Bort has added into the game.
It would be nice to know, just hard to test. I just wanted to clarify what I believe to be the question.

I train speed and agility just because.

I would suggest that speed just effects the way you move around the pocket. Agility would make your throwing bar raise because sometimes QB's get in awkward positions and agility would allow you to get your body into a throwing stance quicker and easier.

Thanks for the replys.

The q was about release time, which I am bit confused on what affect it. agility might be a good train for my QB.

Maybe speed affects everything the QB does. so maybe it also affect the speed of his release. ???

Well if anything at all affects release time in GLB, I think it's agility. As the skills guide says:

And the throwing motion is basically adjusting your body.

Yeah, I know in the Kicker/Punter forums there are posts about agility affecting kicking motion, but I'm not sure if it was just rumor or had any proof.

I read somewhere, speed and agility affect Kicker Mechanics, I would assume the same with the QB and throwing mechanics (drop back, getting set, release, etc.).
