Should a full back use equipment only for strength, including custom equipment? It seems to be the best attribute at this point & to boost it as much as possible seems to be the best idea. Any FB's out there with an opinion on equipment.

Seconded. If you never, or hardly ever, run the ball then you could split equipment between strength and blocking. But in most cases it should be strength only, and it's never the wrong thing to do.
