Title says it all. Forget against even competition, not even against lower levels do my NTs shed blocks and get pressure. Just wanted to see if other guys are having good success (or pressure) from the NT position in a relatively competitive league.

And yeah, I know NTs don't put up big numbers. I'm not looking for that. I just wonder why against inferior competition the NT doesn't dominate in the same way as other d-lineman compared to their opposition.

vs pathetic competition.

my NT play is down from last year. does not seem to take advantage of mismatches nearly as much as i thought he would.

DT/NT performance is still excellent below about level 18 in a similarly-leveled league.

However, I haven't seen many 18+ DTs doing well at either position against anything resembling even competition (within 3 levels). In fact, some DTs/NTs have suffered a HUGE letdown in performance. And it doesn't seem to matter what their respective build is - high str, high agi, combo, high in one SA... all seem to be suffering.

How is playing against OL that are roughly my same level or higher considered pathetic? Because it isn't lvl 25 like your guy?

I have noticed at least in lowly A leagues that DTs are getting more sacks and pressure than DE's.

Honestly? Yes. You're playing in a league where builds aren't anywhere near mature and consequently, your results are unlikely to translate well to an environment where builds are rapidly approaching maturity.

4 of your 5 sacks came in one game where your competition was comprised of all CPU players, and the average C-G looks like it was around L8. that was why i called the competition pathetic.

But yes, the point of the thread is how you can get your level 20+ DT to perform well in tough leagues, where all o-linemen are huge with lots of strength and blocking.

You can track it back to August 4th. On that day all NT/DT's became far less effective then they were just 24 hours before. It's Bort's code change.

Hmm. I can't say I noticed my guys playing particularly better before that date. But after my level 26 NT went up against a level 6 C and RG combo and my guy put up one tackle and one missed tackle........yeah, something's amiss. I'm not looking for cupcake handouts for stats. But there's a lot of times when playing against relatively higher or lower competition can reveal things about your build that you didn't know were either strong or lacking. This is, in my experience this season, impossible to do now for the NT position. I just didn't know there was a change to the code that affected them.

What do you mean is is broken. You arent going to be a stat producing machine as a NT or a DT

it's not just the lack of stats. just underperforming in general

Mine gets slapped around like a prison fish.

Level 19
Strength: 82.03
Agility: 49.03
Blocking: 20.32
Speed: 21.45
Tackling: 27.34
Stamina: 30.7
Vision: 18.44
Confidence: 19.89

Pass 1, 2, 0, 0, 0
Run 3, 4, 2, 2, 3

I haven't bothered raising tackling because he never gets close to tackling anyone anyway. What annoys me is that move where he gets launched sideways like he got hit with a semi. It's obviously some kind of O-line special. Now why in the fuck doesn't the D-Line have any specials that actually function?

Thats pretty much how my build looked at level 19. Confidence has been showing me some improvement. I'm pretty much invisible out there as well.

Right now the NT has the sad distinction of being the LEAST rewarding class to play in the game. IF you do everything correctly and follow the exact same forumla as every other NT, your reward is a character that essentially does nothing at all. But if you deviate in the slightest from this predictable build you are going to get flattened. Against equal level opponents, unless their build is VERY bad, you aren't going to accomplish anything at all.

I believe a large part of this is that the O-lines special abilities do something while the NT's do not.
