Europe East Pro Power Rankings

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Week Six edition of sawedust's Europe East Pro Power Rankings, brought to you by EA Sports and Madden NFL 09.
This week, we officially welcome the newest version of sPR to the Europe East Pro boards.
These spaces would normally be filled by a recap of the games this past week, but Europe East Pro has those spots filled by resident genius Randy03Texags.
Thus, we shall leave it to the master to recap these past games and previews for next week.
For those of you who are new to the sawedust Power Ranking system, here's an explanation of how these rankings have been set up:
The following statistics have been broken down into two parts: Overall Season and Last Four Games. The "Overall" portion takes into account a team's performance over the entire season. The "Last Four Games" portion takes into account a team's recent performances. By using the L4 in my stats, I am able to accurately gauge how well a team is currently doing (if players were signed/released, etc). Anyway, here are the stats used...
Win-Loss
For the most part, winning is everything. More wins equals more points in the rankings.
Strength of Schedule
This determines the level of opponents a team has faced.
Margin of Victory
There is no room for sympathy in GLB. Blow your opponents out in order to move up in the rankings.
Points For/Against
This gauges the overall strength of a team's offense and defense.
Miscellaneous
Players, tactics, etc.
So with that said...
Here are your OFFICIAL Week Six Europe East Pro Power Rankings!
THE TOP TEN
1. Barger Hill Burglars (6-0), 45.887
Season Three promotee Barger Hill finds themselves at the top of the Europe East Pro ladder again this week, following a 21 to 16 victory over Season Four promotee Vilnius Maulers. Barger Hill has taken care of business so far this season, defeating playoff contenders like the Demon Brigade, GCP, and Vilnius with relative ease thanks to a powerful offense and a stout defense.
Previously ranked: #1 (same)
Last game: Win vs. Vilnius Maulers (4-2), 21 to 16.
Next game: Away at Washington Chairmen (4-2).
2. Stalingrad Gryphon Army (6-0), 42.589
Last season's Europe East Pro champions are well on their way to a repeat run at the championship, with a superb start to the season. As many already know from previous experience, Stalingrad's defense is (and has always been) the key to their success in Goal Line Blitz. The defense has allowed 24 points in six games; four of those games were shutouts. SGA faces off against Dubai in the EE Pro Game of the Week.
Previously ranked: #2 (same)
Last game: Win at Cincinnati Tigers (3-3), 45 to 7.
Next game: At home vs. Dubai Lightning (6-0).
3. Dubai Lightning (6-0), 40.647
Not a lot of big tests for Dubai thus far, but they'll have their hands full with Stalingrad in this upcoming game. Most of their cupcake games have come and gone (one-sided affairs against Silesia, Transylvania, and Moscow), so we'll see how the Lightning fare against tougher opposition. These next few games will up their Strength of Schedule modifier, which has Dubai ranked tied for second for the weakest schedule this season as of this posting.
Previously ranked: #3 (same)
Last game: Win vs. Greek Fire (2-4), 38 to 7.
Next game: Away at Stalingrad Gryphon Army (6-0).
4. Prague Punishers (6-0), 40.08
Resident genius Randy03Texags seems a bit surprised with the success his team has managed thus far in the season, with a narrow win over the Cocks in the season opener and a big win over a Bora Bora team he thought was going to be a lot closer than it actually was. They could be sandbagging their true skill at the moment, but those who are familiar with Prague know that the Punishers have always been a top-tier team, regardless of anything that has been said.
Previously ranked: #4 (same)
Last game: Win at Bora Bora Brawlers (4-2), 44 to 20.
Next game: At home vs. Cincinnati Tigers (3-3).
5. Scotch Cocks (5-1), 34.857
Some are crying "unsportsmanlike conduct" for the Cocks after an absolute cock-raping of the Moscow Dragons, 219 to zero. Can you say stat-padding? Cocks QB Rufus Wainright threw for 30 touchdowns this past game. You read it right. 30. That's more than what the bottom feeder teams combined will throw in a single season. Nevertheless, the relentless attack of the Cocks show you their drive to be on top of this league.
Previously ranked: #7 (+2)
Last game: Win vs. Moscow Dragons (1-5), 219 to 0.
Next game: Away at Greek Fire (2-4).
6. Dubrovnik Destroyers (5-1), 33.57
The Alpha Conference's second-ranked team, the Dubrovnik Destroyers are also handly beating their competition (save the season opener against the Maulers). In their last four games, Dubrovnik beat their opponents by an average of 74 points per game, ranking only behind Dubai and the Cocks, both of whom face inferior bottom-tier competition in the Zeta Conference. Another easy game for Dubrovnik next week as they take on the Brain Smashers of East Alabama.
Previously ranked: #5 (-1)
Last game: Win at Team Phoenix (0-6), 132 to 0.
Next game: At home vs. East Alabama Brain Smashers (1-5).
7. The Geriatric Couch Potatoes (5-1), 31.612
One of Europe East Pro's newest additions, The Geriatric Couch Potatoes have found their way back on track with a nice 44-31 win over the Demon Brigade. The GCP offense has been phenomenal this year, with both the passing and ground game working effectively. However, an achilles heel may be found in their defense, which has not performed up to standards this season.
Previously ranked: #9 (+2)
Last game: Win at Demon Brigade (4-2), 44-31.
Next game: At home vs. NFL Fanatix (3-3).
8. Kazan Golden Horde (4-2), 26.751
The Golden Horde has been up and down this season, balancing their losses with several impressive wins. Keep in mind that their losses thus far were against 5-1 teams (GCP and RAR) who haven't truly proven themselves against great opponents. Thus, we may see a roller coaster effect from KGH the rest of the season. However, this is still a playoff caliber team and should be treated as such until proven otherwise.
Previously ranked: #6 (-2)
Last game: Loss vs. St. Petersburg Red Army Regulars (5-1), 7 to 13.
Next game: Away at Minsk Koats (1-5).
9. St. Petersburg Red Army Regulars (5-1), 24.401
A nice win for the Red Army Regulars move them up three spots this week to the top ten (ranked 12th in last week's beta power rankings). As aforementioned, St. Petersburg hasn't faced much of a challenge this season, and when they did (a 48 to 14 loss to Dubrovnik), it was an absolute beatdown. Their wins over lower-tier teams may have placed themselves this high, but they may fall in the following weeks with top-ranked Barger Hill and the Demon Brigade awaiting them later this season.
Previously ranked: #12 (+3)
Last game: Win at Kazan Golden Horde (4-2), 13 to 7.
Next game: At home vs. New York Knights (1-5).
10. General Patton's Demon Brigade (4-2), 18.989
A loss to The Geriatric Couch Potatoes this week drops the Demon Brigade down two spots to number ten this week. In a game that was expected to fall under the Demon Brigade's favor on paper, they feel behind early and were unable to recover. Nevertheless, the Demon Brigade is still having a respectable season and have done well thus far. A somewhat-challenging game awaits them away at Vilnius next week.
Previously ranked: #8 (-2)
Last game: Loss vs. The Geriatric Couch Potatoes (5-1), 31 to 44.
Next game: Away at Vilnius Maulers (4-2).
CONTENDING FOR A TOP SPOT
11. Lafayette Rajun Cajuns (4-2), 18.53
Concerns of Lafayette deserving to be in Europe East Pro had been shared with the public, but the Season Four addition to this league seems to be coming around after a rough start to the season. Their two losses came against third-ranked Dubai and the fifth-ranked Cocks, so I don't see any reason why there should be concerns about this team. They should be contender (if not top ten) material the rest of the way.
Previously ranked: #14 (+3)
Last game: Win at Szolnok Soldiers (0-6), 165 to 0.
Next game: At home vs. Chernobyl Mutants (2-4).
12. Helsinki Hell Raisers (4-2), 16.812
It will be two more weeks of stat-padding for the Helsinki Hell Raisers, fresh off a 60 to 3 victory over the newly reconfigured Belgrade Black Hand. Helsinki did quite well against Dubai and Scotch earlier this season, so they do have what it takes to play with the big boys. However, they still have some work to do in order to be considered a top ten team.
Previously ranked: #13 (+1)
Last game: Win at Belgrade Black Hand (1-5), 60-3.
Next game: At home vs. Szolnok Soldiers (0-6).
13. Bora Bora Brawlers (4-2), 16.495
Tough loss for Bora Bora against Prague last week. Luckily for them, they have a nice holiday break in Silesia next week to prepare for newcomer Lafayette in Week Eight. Nothing really good or bad to say against Bora Bora... they seem like an average team who is just doing well this season.
Previously ranked: #10 (-3)
Last game: Loss vs. Prague Punishers (6-0), 20 to 44.
Next game: Away at Silesia Miners (1-5).
14. Vilnius Maulers (4-2), 12.57
Vilnius is doing great this season, acknowledging the fact that they have not boosted this season. This could cause big problems later in the season, especially in the playoffs, due to opponents being unable to properly scout the Maulers' players prior to the big games. The win over Dubrovnik in Week One was impressive, but the Maulers couldn't get it done against Kazan and Barger Hill. How will they fare against the Demon Brigade this week?
Previously ranked: #11 (-3)
Last game: Loss at Barger Hill Burglars (6-0), 16 to 21.
Next game: At home vs. Gen. Patton's Demon Brigade (4-2).
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
15. Sarajevo Reapers (3-3), 7.231
16. Washington Chairmen (4-2), 5.702
17. Cincinnati Tigers (3-3), 2.116
18. NFL Fanatix (3-3), 1.359
19. Leningrad Iron Fists (3-3), 1.12
20. Greek Fire (2-4), -0.36
DIVINE INTERVENTION
21. Sheboygan Chaos Theory (2-4), -7.608
22. Chernobyl Mutants (2-4), -9.993
23. Belgrade Black Hand (1-5), -15.874
24. Moscow Dragons (1-5), -16.064
25. East Alabama Brain Smashers (1-5), -18.012
26. New York Knights (1-5), -24.064
27. Silesia Miners (1-5), -26.432
28. Minsk Koats (1-5), -26.569
THE BOTTOM FEEDERS
29. Team Phoenix (0-6), -31.862
30. Transylvania Drachen (0-6), -32.539
31. Hungarian Thunder Hogs (0-6), -38.869
32. Szolnok Soldiers (0-6), -39.512
