What are the most important parts of the SA tree for both sides? The only thing I've heard so far is Pump Fake for the pocket passers, which helps the WRs get separation.

Pump fake isn't really needed anymore if your WR's have head fake because of the changes to passing this season. Better to spend the points elsewhere.

Looks more like the LB went for the pick. Didn't freeze or anything.

I don't really see how a skill that helps your receivers get open is "not needed" just because WRs get a better chance of getting open on their own. Head fake isn't guaranteed to be used every play or to work every time it is used no matter how high you get it. Also you may have noticed that juke has a similar use but is more effective if you have enough agility to do it well. It is pretty safe to say that as you level up head fake will be less and less effective because players have the vision and agility not to be fooled as easily and that is why juke is further down the tree and more expensive to raise, it is your high end get open/avoid tackle SA.
Or maybe sometimes you throw the ball to a TE or a possession WR that doesn't have head fake or juke? A skill that helps your receivers get open is almost never a bad decision for a pocket QB assuming you don't have some other glaring holes you should be fixing first.
