Granted, the competition of my team has been tough through the first 5 games, but what is it that continues to limit the abilities of my back? I figured he would have success as an elusive back, but I have him on combo due to the success of other backs using combo over elusive.

Not only that, but he has fumbled 4 times in 5 games.

Any help appreciated.

He is not an elusive back, he is a speed back. If you switched Speed and Agility, then he'd be an elusive back.

With that said, the only elusive SAs that will do you any good are Quick Cut and First Step, and they're pretty low. And I'm not really sure why you have points in the Power SAs.

Speed backs need an excellent line/blocking WRs to do well against equal competition.

You should make a decision what you're going to focus on and stick with it. Decide on one key attribute and one or two key SAs that will work well with that attribute.

Wait a minute. You said my RB wasn't a speed back and he's got 62 speed and 57 agility. This guy has 1 point more speed and less agility and he IS a speed back?

I dont think you know how agility works. It serves 2 purposes that I'm aware of. 1) Acceleration 2) Tackle avoidence/cutting ability

So by me having 57 agility compared to his 48, I'm actually able to reach my top speed of 62 faster than he is...yet I'm the one who's not a speed back?

I dont get it. Do you just look at speed and anything high is a speed back? You have to have agility too. Speed backs will have high speed AND agility. Elusive backs will also have high speed and agility, but not as high and will have more spent on the evasive specials.

Oh, this guy is level 23 and my HB is level 15. So give me 40 more points and see where my speed/agility will be. 75/75 maybe?

Will that be a speed back?

*Deep Breath*

First off, I know full well how agility works. I have very high agility players and I avidly read and research, not to mention watch and compare their respective PbP.

Secondly, the type of RB that a HB is is determined by his highest stat, as long as it is decidely higher. If his Speed is significantly higher, then he's a speed back. If strength, then he's a power back. Agility is an elusive back. Balanced attributes is a balanced back, but it gets a little shady as there are 3 main attributes.

He is a Speed back because his Speed is significantly higher (which means at least a 10 point difference, usually more) than his agility. You are not because you have more of a balance. Because I don't know what your strength is, I hesitate to call you a balanced back. As I said in the other thread, I like your idea/direction, and why you keep attacking my posts and my ideas is beyond me.

Is that clear now? It's not so much how high a RB's Speed is but how high it is compared to his other stats.

Back to the OP...

If you want to be like good ol' Barry, you'll need very high agility - 65+ would be a decent estimate. Then I'd recommend stacking one or two SAs, depending on your vision of your RB. The rest you can fill in as you see fit, but an elusive back must have a very high agility in order to make full effect of the elusive SAs. And, of course, the higher the SA, the better, so it's a good idea to only focus on one or two.

The LVL 24 equipment upgrade will all go into agility.

Agility has been capped, so it will be hard to get it higher.

The good thing is, the tough part of our schedule is over. If I can progress, I look to have 65/65 in speed/agility. I also will add my SA to head fake, getting it to 5 or 6.

117 yards on 20 carries my last game with two touchdowns.

Weak competition, but he is progressing.
