Someone else used to do this and I always enjoyed them.
(Game of the Week)
Pontiac War Kittens (3-0) at Michigan Panthers (3-0):
In a battle of unbeaten teams, these '03 playoff teams face off in the Jungle. Michigan has been challenged in each of their first three games and has rose to the occasion each time. The War Kittens, however, have yet to have been tested until this game. The Kittens are hungry to face some real competition.
But I believe the Panthers will continue to rise to the occasion with a close victory.
22-20
Seattle Reign (3-0) vs. Columbus Buckeyes (3-0):
The Reign visit Columbus in another battle of perfect records. The Reign's schedule thus far has been a cakewalk. While the Buckeyes have only had one formidable challenge, which they overcame. The key to this game will be Columbus's ability to contain the Reign's Kellen Winslow Jr.
I believe they will.
24-13
Maryland Iron Maidens (2-1) vs. Carson City Cubes (2-1):
The Iron Maidens will visit The Cube this week coming off a disappointing loss to the Panthers, in a game where they gave up a half time lead. The upstart Cubes, however, are riding a two game winning streak. The key to this game is for the Iron Maidens to get an early lead so they can pound the Cubes with their dual-threat halfbacks. The Cubes, on the other hand, are going to need to keep the game close and limit turnovers to have a chance.
Fear. Paranoia. Suspicion. Desperation. Cubes Win!
16-13
Lexington Mob (1-2) vs. Megatropolis Tigers (1-2):
Lexington is struggling after two back to back losses where their defense gave up a combined 96 points. The Tigers, too, are riding a 2 game losing streak, but they've played well in both of their losses against tough opponents. Can Lexington turn their season around with a big victory in week 4? Or will the Tigers even up their record by taking care of business at home?
The Tigers, led by their defense, will deal it out.
28-10
New York Huskies (1-2) vs. Detroit Soldiers (0-3):
The Tigers look to turn around a very disappointing start to their season at home this week. They have been smoked by some of the top teams in the league in the first 3 games this year and look to begin a win streak here. The Huskies are improved in '04. Evidenced by their rousing 73-7 victory in week 3. However, that win was against a decimated team fielding replacement players.
Detroit will be too much at home.
37 - 16
Las Vegas Wildcats(0-3) vs. Anonymous Assassins (1-2):
The Wildcats are in serious rebuilding mode with new ownership struggling to attract talent to an unattractive destination. Signs of light are showing as they scored their first touchdown of the season last week. The Assassins hope to bring their record up to .500 and put on a show at home while tinkering with some offensive ideas.
They will.
73-3
New Jersey Vikings (0-3) vs. Milwaukee Fire (1-2):
The Fire host the Vikings in a game the Fire are heavily favored in. Coming off of a huge road victory last week, the Fire look to secure their second win in a row. The Vikings are hoping to build on their improved offense this year, and hope to keep this game respectable.
In a traditional Viking funeral, the fallen were burned.
44 - 6
Murder City Devils (3-0) vs. Albany Death (0-3):
MCD faces yet another winless team this week in the Death. Ownership of the Devils has been rumored to have been sending angry letters to league offices regarding league parity. The rebuilding Albany, however, continue their firesale with a recently announced trade of their starting tight end. New ownership claims to have a 4 year plan. Fans and other league owners are less than thrilled with ownership's penny-pinching.
MCD destroys yet another hapless opponent.
133 - 0
Enjoy!
