I was wondering if a Sam McGuffie type of HB who runs straight and hurdles players would be possible in GLB?

For those who don't know who Sam McGuffe is, he's a freshmen HB at Michigan who often hurdles over defenders! Check out this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eygKqRMd94U

Harvin has at most two years left. Going into this season, Jones has a chance to establish himself as one of the top receivers in the SEC.

Not to mention if you're talking about WR, its better to have a fast 6'4 guy over a faster 5'11 guy.

i disagree about the whole 6'4 and 5'11 fast guy..
Percy is a whole new lvl of fast he is quick and strong he has good moves and what not

while Jones might run as fast in the 40 he wont be able to cut and break tackles like Percy

And Jones has a chance to establish himself lots of people have chances and potential... percy is established as one of the top Recievers probably the top

Dont think that im saying jones wont be good.. he will just your point is wrong

My point isn't wrong.

Jones is more of a possession receiver in that he can jump up and get the ball. He is compared on many levels to Calvin Johnson.

Harvin benefits from CUMs spread offense with the WR coming over in misdirection plays and using screens to turn nothing into something. Not to mention with Tebow, you have a two headed monster running the offense in the backfield.

whatever u say AHM

wish u could take off your Alabama shades and see things from a differant perspective because they are 2 very differant players

Jones is going to be more of a TO a guy thats like u said possesion big target
(but its hard to compare a guy who is yet to play, this is assumption most recievers his size fit the bill)

while Harvin is more of a after the catch reciever like Welker

Harvin reminds me a lot of Tyrone Prothro.

Hopefully with the talent we're bringing in now, Julio will be able to make plays due to his size, speed, and vertical abilities.

I'm not doubting Harvin, but I do believe Julio can be a better all around receiver in that he can go one on one with any DB or corner and has the advantage due to his size and amazingly great athletic ability.

isnt Prothro still at Bama?

sure he can be a better reciever but either way they are two differant animals

Harvin is a speedy strong reciever that bc of his size/strength can move E/W and N/S that will get after the catch yds while Jones (do to his size i assume) will be a mismatch for defenses a good deep ball guy, i dont think bc of his size he will be able to do as much after the catch as Percy

i know julio was the 1 recruit but id like to remind you so was harvin
and the only thing Julio has on Percy is size

Harvin is now up to 202 lbs and benching over 400

Prothro graduates tomorrow. His football career is pretty much done.

Again, it is my opinion that Harvin benefits from the offense he is in with the use of motion, option, and speed. He has great speed and with Tebow, the two of them run the option great 10/10 times. Plus with the ability to read defenses, they are able to screen or run for big gains on any given play.

Obviously, I have not seen Julio play yet at Alabama. From practice reports, he is our best receiver on the field. He runs his routes to perfection, out jumps every defender, and makes plays. Right now, he is the center piece of our young offense.

Harvin=overrated, from what I remember he was ran down by a slow big10 cornerback by the name of Morgan Trent But for real both of those guys are damn good. Would be better if they went to the UofM

And stop Hateing on my boy Mcguffie, he is gonna do wonders in RR's offense

At least when a Michigan fans talks smack to an SEC fan, they can back it up.

If I see tosu in the NC 3 years in a row, I riot.
