Since it is a new position this year I thought it would be good to discuss the best way to build them.

-I think strength should be the first skill soft capped to help them shed blocks from guards.
-Then agility should be soft capped so that they can fill their gaps fast.
-Then vision should be soft capped.
-The agent would also be adding points to tackle as they go.

By level 20 their build would look like this.
Strength: 48
Speed: 30
Agility: 48
Vision: 48
Tackle: 48
And after they reach that they would start to load up the Run stuffing SA tree

Any other opinions?

You are REALLY underestimating the value of speed.

Speed is relative to agility now. I see people with 50 speed look like 70 speed if they have the agility ot match. 30 Speed is a bit low but your build philosophy is solid.

that's a good build for a ROLB...

In fact, my LB looks damn near like that one - except I have speed capped, but tackle not.

Speed could be five or ten higher, but in a 3-4 they dont need to be sideline to sideline. All they have to do is fill their A and B gap. Anything else is just a bonus

You're overestimating the value of speed to an ILB. ILB's primary job is to stuff the run and put pressure on the QB. They routinely go against interior offensive lineman and need to shed blocks. ILB are massive LB's, not quick speedsters. Vision is more important to a ILB than speed.

20ish speed 48 agility wouldn't be bad at all. I'm in the process of building one just like that. He's not covering WR's or TE's and if he's got to run down a RB on a pitch, the other LB's are not built right.

What happens in the real world and GLB are different. A ILB will have to cover a TE/HB/FB and 20ish speed won't cut it there.

Speed imo this season hasnt gotten nerfed too much. I've seen a 10 agil and 60 speed just tear up a good defense. At least set the goal of speed to 35-40. LBs require speed.

Not if you game plan right. Then blitz them so they fill their gaps faster then the outside backers cover the TE's.

The ILB's on my team with 11 speed currently covers HB's with 30+ speed just fine when they are required to

No he won't. The OLB should be covering the TE/HB/FB.

I don't think you get how the 3-4 works, or at least how it should work...

So where would you concentrate your equipment? Strength and/or Agility?

I don't think you get how the 3-4 works, or at least how it should work...

So when you blitz your OLB (as most 3-4 teams do), you just leave the TE wide open?

All LBs will have to cover someone at sometime.. just depends on if its man to man or zone..

I think agility and vision are the most important for an ILB. sure strength is more important than for a 4-3 MLB, but still, when you are taking on a G/C with 50+ strength and blocking its gonna be hard to get off that block with speed alone. I think outthinking them (vision) and then being explosive to get around them works best (agility, then speed). Also, in GLB the main benefit of the 3-4 defense is in pass coverage, so if you have a slow ass ILB you are compromising your pass defense.
Again, not saying that what yall have been saying is wrong, i'm just throwing in my 2 cents

My level 27 LB plays RILB and backup MLB and has strength at 50+, speed at about 60, agility at 45 (will get that up next level), vision at 45 (will get that up after agility), and tackling at 50+
