Eastern Conference

#1 Akron Assassins 2-0

Pros: Rolled over a very good grizzlies team in a 21 point win and silenced the elks with an 86-0 shutout a day after they proclaimed to compete in the playoff competition. Great levels, great depth, great builds.

Cons: They are expected to go 20-0, no less. Everyones going to bring their A game against them.

#2 Chicago Bruins 2-0

Pros: Left last season as one of the best teams in the conference, and now have a 2-0 record to back it up. They're highly leveled, and run a steady ship.

Cons: Almost let one slip against the grizzlies in a 1 point upset. If their kicker didn't go 5/5 on field goals, they would of been 1-1 right now. They showed they can be beat.

#3 Memphis Ghetto Dawgs 2-0

Pros: Beat a quality team in New Orleans. Chemistry is 100 across the board. they're a convincing 2-0 and first place in the standings due to most points scored.

Cons: They're special teams. Level 15 kicker and Level 16 Punter aren't too high, but special teams isn't too important in this game, and they're strong everywhere else.

#4 Philadelphia Brokebacks 2-0

Pros: This team has been the biggest suprise in my opinion. They beat a very good Oakyville team in the preseason, they convincingly beat a north carolina team that finished very strong in the conference last season, and they look to be heading towards a 4-0 record going into the New Orleans game.

Cons: They are beatable. They showed in the scrimmage against San Fran that the right game plan can go a long way. We have to see how they fair against top competition 1-3.

#5 New Orleans Eagles 1-1

Pros: Beat a solid Denver Stallions team by a good margian, and put up a major fight against the Memphis Ghetto Dawgs. All in all, New Orleans looks to finish in the top four and host a playoff game.

Cons: They seemed to have some trouble throwing the ball against Memphis but threw much better against Denver. I have no doubt they are a playoff team, but I would like to see how they match up against the brokebacks week 5.

#6 Klamath Fall Grizzlies 0-2

Pros: How do i put an 0-2 team at #6 in the power rankings? It's not their fault they had Akron and Chicago game 1 and 2, and they were 1 point from beating chicago. They made the playoffs last season. Their team looks even better this season. From here on out, schedule looks alot easier.

Cons: Lets cross our fingers they're not last seasons Oakyville. The team that almost beats every great team.

#7 North Carolina Lighthouses 1-1

Pros: If you look at their roster, they're still a team that looks playoff bound. They have an easy win before they play a New Orleans team.

Cons: They need to show they could beat a good team. How they bounce back from an 18 point loss against Phili could mean everything. Even tho they have the pieces, they need to use them the right way.

#8 The Forgotten Ones 2-0

Pros: I can't believe this team used to be suspiciously fishless. Major props to the owner for an amazing turnaround. 2-0 start is a 2-0 regardless who you play. 8 might be low for such a start, but if they can beat the tokers tommarrow, the #8 ranking will change.

Cons: Its tough to ignore that they have played two of the worst teams in the conference. Their next 4 games are much tougher opponents.

#9 South Beach Tokers 1-1

Pros: Shut down the mambas 27-0, and their defense seems to be having a much better season which was a major weakness of their last season.

Cons: Need to beat someone important. This team was 5-11 last season their only 5 wins coming from teams that finished below them. They need to beat two of these teams once ranked ahead of them to make a serious playoff run. Tommarrow against the forgotten ones is a good place to start.

#10 New Orleans Drunken Skulls 1-1

Pros: Another amazing turnaround for a new owner. This team was last seasons comets, totally disbanded, and now have some serious talent. Destroyed moss point 62-0 and now get to show what they're made of against state rival new orleans eagles.

Cons: Still need to show they can beat a top 8 team.

#11 Denver Stallions 1-1

Pros: It was tough deciding between Denver and New ORleans for the 10 spot because I know Denver can put up a great game at any given time. Problem is, they're also capable of putting up an egg at any time too.

Cons: After London, they got Akron and Chicago on back to back games.

#12 Elk Rapid Elks 1-1

Pros: Destroyed London in the opening game, over half their roster is over level 20, and seem like a team capable of pulling off an upset.

Cons: It has to stink a day after someone from the elks comes out and advertises their matchup against Akron proclaiming themselves a playoff team, they happened to get blown out by over 80.

#13 Orlando Mambas 0-2

Pros: Almost Beat the forgotten ones only lost 7-12

Cons: Need to improve their game planning. They ran 100% of the time against the tokers and had 1 first down the entire game.

#14 Minnesota Rage 0-2

Pros: Put up 21 against North Carolina

Cons: Got blown out big time by the forgotten ones. Wheres the Defense?

15-16 Moss Point 0-2 and London Cobras 0-2

Pros: Seem to be getting better little by little

Cons: both teams still starting cpu players

I noticed that, plus you don't have to tell me how good your team is. You kicked our asses opening week. Thats why I still have you at #2 =). I'm sure you can understand why Akron is #1 as well.

Your last FG with 2 minutes left may have put the game out of reach, but don't pretend that the game wasn't in doubt up to that point.

Good point. Grizzlies scored a TD 30 seconds after what ended up being the game winning FG. It looked close from an outside observer.

We certainly can't argue with the Assassins being the #1 team. we only wish we would've given them a better game last week. And oh boy, this week we get the Bruins!

btw, great write up. thanks for doing these!

My first time checking in on groups forums. Starting QB for the Brokebacks here. The rankings are a great read. Thanks for taking the time to put these out.

To clarify, we ran 2 passing plays that game. We did not run 100% of the time.

Oh yea, we fixed the whole running-the-Goal-Line-offense-from-our-5-yard-to-our opponents'-goal-line thing. No more 99% running.

Thanks for the evaluation. The Elks are licking their wounds and hope the bandages stay on for another tough game!

BTW We said that we HOPE to prove. No call-outs here. Just a voice from a previously quiet team!!

Wasn't as close as it looked? Not sure you watched the same sim as I did Jonny. You guys only put together 266 yards of total offense and needed 5 FG's including one at 56 yards to win.

I'd say that was a pretty close game. A VERY well played game by both sides, and we look forward to the re-match....hopefully!
