i like what you're trying to do.....i think i'll wait til week 6 or 7 before having an actual opinion about how good they are.

quick question -- since chemistry can change during the season, do current rankings reflect current chemistry?

Yes, current rankings reflect current chemistry and current rosters, so any trades, level-ups, boosts, chem hits, or chem recovery will be accounted for. Adjustments that have been accumulated over the course of the year are then added on top, after everything else if figured.

To call these power rankings is a complete misnomer.
These are really -just- chemistry rankings.
And at Pro level (gutted teams aside), chemistry and levels are smaller parts of the "power" equation.

It seems like in the early part of the season it'd be more accurate if the previous season's results were factored in. Just my two cents...

before you (and btw, who the heck ARE you, anyway?) jump to any conclusions, read up on what he's doing. he already explained the initial rankings.

the way i see it, if our team (which won the west last season and is now ranked 9th in the west, behind a team we just beat) isn't offended or complaining or telling him things suck, you - a complete outsider - should just sit back and watch with your opinions remaining closer to the vest.

I've contemplated this idea, and once the formula is fully ironed out I'm thinking about letting "adjustments" be cumulative from one year to the next, perhaps resetting them any time a team's ownership changes. It would make sense, since the base ratings represent level and chemistry, while the adjustments represent basically everything else, from builds to game planning. Reset it any time a team is sold, but keep it from season to season.

That's an idea for the future though, because the adjustment formula I'm using right now is brand new, and while I think it's better than what I did last year, I don't think it's as good as it could be. Like all the formulas I'm using here, it's still a work in progress. Plus, I didn't keep rankings on USA Pro last season, so I don't have anything to carry over even if I wanted to.

Well, at least we moved up one spot. I was hoping with beating the Nasty that we'd move up more, but I guess if it doesn't take previous years into account, then the Nasty are still just another team right now.

Lol, I believe they moved Nasty down instead of moving you up...

Anyway, I believe my late TD gave me 1 or 2 points more in the new rankings lol

Well, we were 7th before and now are 6th and the Nasty are still ahead of us. So we moved up somehow.
