Philly players, owners and GMs......please don't take offense to this, it is just something I do in our forum and on our website. I thought it would be fun to share one of them. This is not meant to be demeaning in any way.

The sky was filled with clouds and the rain had just started to pour as the Battalion fans started filing into the stadium. This was the Battalion Opener and the fans were ready! You could see a different look in the eyes of the fans this season. They were confident and felt like the Battalion were going to get their revenge on Philly today.

The Battalion had done very good in preseason, going 2-0 and getting their playbooks together.

The last time these 2 faced off, Philly handed the Battalion a loss in a 13-3 battle at home in Philadelphia. Philly had dominated on the ground that game, and the Battalion just couldn't keep drives going.

But today was different, The Battalion was ready, they were prepared and they came to play.

Just as I took the last bite of my hot dog($7.00! what a ripoff.), the fans rose to their feet to give the hometown favorites a thunderous welcome, the noise was deafening and the stadium rocked to the point that you could hardly stand.

Just then you could see the new colors of the Battalion looming in the darkness of the home team tunnel......Then, like shot from a cannon, Tim Crusher sprinted to the 50 Yd line followed by Rashaad Clark, Jack Thurman and Steele Curtain and the rest of the team. I couldn't believe it, but the fans managed to kick it up another notch as Mike Dadestroyer waved his arms in the air for more.

You could see the look of war in their eyes. They wanted this game, they wanted it BAD! The Battalion defense was working themselves into a frenzy at center field as the offense began to head towards the sideline.

Just as the last Battalion player got to the sideline, the Marauders took the field which turned the once applauding and excited fans into a booing and profanity blurting bunch.

With both teams now on the sidelines, the Captains took the field for the coin toss. Tim Crusher, Thurmann Thomas and Joe Blak were representing the Battalion today, with Jesse Randolph, Brutus Badass and Nick Badass representing Philly.

The Battalion won the coin toss and elected to receive.

Blazing Gun received the opening kickoff and returned it 45 yds., giving the Battalion excellent field position for their first drive.

Tim then marched them 36 yds and set up a Christie FG. The drive was highlighted by this pass from Tim to Faster McLovin for 16.5 yds.........

Philly then began a drive from their own 37 yd line but was stoppe at the Battalion 39 yd line when Lightning McQueen picked off this pass from Randolph.........

The Battalion wasted no time in capitalizing on the turnover as they drove 50 yds in 10 plays and set up another Christie FG. Th drive was highlighted by this play where Truman hits the hole and picks up 15 yds.....

Philly once again stalled on their next drive as Bailey Champ stopped Badass for no gain on 3rd and 4.......

Tim Crusher then drove the Battalion downfield again hittin Captain Chaos 3 times for 39 yds, and the drive was capped off by this 19.5 yd TD run from Dash Hardin.......
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=94081&pbp_id=956757

Philly then scored a TD to bring the game within 7 after a missed XP....

The Battalion answered back with a 45 yd drive that finished off with this 4yd gain by Truman...........

The Battalion was winning 20 - 6 at the half and Philly once again turned it over on their first drive of the 2nd half when Bam Bam Willis laid this thunderous hit on Badass, the fumble was recovered by Bailey Champ.....
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=94081&pbp_id=958126

The Battalion was forced to punt on their next drive, but immediately got the ball back when Plains Train picked off this pass by Randolph....

This time the Battalion used the new possesion to chaulk up another 7 points, courtesy of this 8 yd TD run by Thomas....
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=94081&pbp_id=958755

Philly managed another good drive of 74 yds and put Badass in position for this goalline TD......

The teams then traded possessions a few times until Philly once again got within scoring range only to have Randolph sacked by Jordan O'Neil on this 4th down attempt.....

And with that, The fans went crazy as the Battalion had just won their season opener! The Battalion looks like a new team this season, they have new uniforms, they have new attitudes and they have that look of victory in their eyes.

As the last player of the Battalion disappeared into the home team tunnel, you could hear the familiar chant coming from the darkness - "The Battlion's on the loose, don't try to hide......just sit back and enjoy the ride!"
