So I haven't seen anyone comment on this feature yet (QB>Advanced Tactics) so I started the topic to help get some thoughts on the change how best to use it.

I assume Bullet will use your strength to figure into your throw somehow and/or make it harder for the defense to catch(possibly your receiver as well) and the oppisate would hold true for Lofty (easier for both to catch..maybe affected by agility?).

What does everyone think, was this discussed elsewhere and I'm just slow?

I would imagine that Bullet passes are ideal when you have receivers that have their hands covered in Stickum, Medium is probably what most people will use because they have possession and speed receivers, and Lofty is for QBs on teams with 3x Randy Moss. Run a streak, jump for the ball, TD.

I don't see myself switching from Medium. My QB isn't exactly the strongest, but he put up solid numbers in the two scrimmage games. I might even drop down to Lofty, because I did notice a number of my receivers apparently bobble the ball before making the catch. Maybe I should invest in more Tight Spiral....

I think bullet passes are going to be more effective down the road when most WR's have above 50 catching, I can only see it adding more drops percentages, incompletion's and forced passes.

What I would assume:

Hard: You'd better have some people with high catching and good vision. Hard to catch therefore harder to intercept cause most secondary players won't have high catch. Good for dump off or short route offenses.

Medium: Probably the nice middle ground. And more than likely like the default from the previous seasons.

Lofty: Good for teams that go deep, possibly a nice cover for a qb lacking strength and teams lacking catching ability.

Man, this setting seems really weird to me. To throw it in AFTER the pre-season games, so we have to play REAL games that actually count, with a setting that we have no idea what it will do. I think it's a bit stupid to put it out now.

Also, from what I understood your strength and throwing decided your pass velocity/quality. Now adding these settings just messes with us, who have been making our builds a certain way for 4 seasons now. So let throw in a new setting that changes how everything works. Pretty worthless to put in a drop down setting, that previously was set by your attributes. The only thing they've done with this game that I've thought was a horrible move.

In my opinion if you stay on balanced you'll be the same as last season, so if you don't want to take the risk of trying it you don't have to.
I'd give as shot at bullet passes on QB who have good WR (at least 40-45 catch) and that did throw too much INT.
You can also try it if you're facing a weak team

What good does testing this out in the D-leagues do for our players. How it effects a Lvl 1-7 QB isn't going to be the same as my level 20.

And whats the deal with Tight Spiral now? Isn't a 'bullet pass' a really tight spiral? Do the two work together?

Come awwwwwwwwwwn.

I don't understand this, basically medium is all that works.

Hard = WR's will have a lot of drops although you won't throw INT's your comp. % rises.

Medium = Throws a perfect ball that can be caught by decent WR's

Soft = Floaters that get picked easily

Only one that makes sense to use is medium, why would they even add it?

Really pisses me off. They broke Speed DEs, and now my Strength build QB, who invested a ton of points in strength to be able to throw bullets can be matched a level 1 QB with a drop down bar?

I know the game has to evolve, but I'm getting severely alienated by these changes ,Bort.

It's not like these tactics mean you don't need strength.

Strength makes the bullet faster. If you have 2 QBs, 1 with 50 Strength and the other with 30, both set to bullet, the 50 STR will throw the ball with much higher velocity. It's not like bullet is adding to your STR, it's just like in Madden when you hold the pass button in rather than tapping it.

We've got a patsy team the first week. I'm trying the bullet pass for tomorrow's game. We'll see what happens.
