I'm slow-building a LDE for the first time. My current plan is to get his agility up to 67 ASAP, then strength to 61. I'll put all my equipment into agility, and train up stamina then vision. After that I'll work on building up tackling and speed.

So my question is: Is this a decent plan? Or should I favor strength over agility? Thoughts?

Do you want to be a bull rushing DE, or a finesse DE.
That should answer your question. If you try to say combo, then do them evenly.

I guess I'm shooting for a combo with an emphasis on agility. I may even out the strength and agility as I get to higher levels, I'm not really sure.

As an LDE, you're going to be the one taking on two blockers on the running plays a lot of the time. Agility is important, but strength will help too.

So, in your opinion, strength > agility for an LDE?

My LDE was a beast at low levels due to max strength. Eventually Agility got maxed as well, but strength carried him through.

I'm having the same issue. I've been going strength and agility evenly until now but i have an equipment upgrade coming soon and i keep debating between maxing strength vs agility. I'm a LDE too. I'm thinking I'm going to go with strength based on this thread.

no with the pass rush options, agility will be much more important

Agility is more important if you choose Evasive

Strength for Bull

Honestly. The best build is the build that mismatches the people across the line from you. If your going up against a LOT as a RDE and his strength is 49 yours is 69. You want to pick Bull Rush. But almost 99% of the time you can't see their build so. Play it safe go with strength not to get pancaked so atleast you could still make a play in the game.

This has alot of misinformation in it. Sure, you cant go wrong with strength, but there are plenty of high level DE's loaded up on agility and speed with minimal str that make plays and dont get pancaked.

Either way will work, just figure out if you want to be a bull rushing run stopper, or a finese rushing end and adjust accordingly

You only need lvl 50 str and you don't have to worry about getting pancaked too much till the tackles are hitting 75 str, and most hitting that high don't have the blocking to pancake you yet.

LDE = Strength - Bull Rush
RDE = Agility - Speed - Elusive

From experience.
