I'm having trouble, as are many others, coming up with a 5th WR for my team. What I do have is a nice speedy third string RB that I would like to use as a WR. Has anyone attempted this with good results? If so, what seemed to work attribute wise to make it a success?

I made my own #5 WR. Though you certainly can use a backup TE for it. The 5 WR set generally causes the D to leave the #5 a massive cushion and you want someone with a decent catching score, you don't have to burn anyone to get big yardage as #5.

I've made one, but they won't be ready for a season or more to join my club. What would you look at for a "decent" catching score to make this viable?

depending on your level but since its a 5th WR I would say 25 would be fine .
Considering a 5th WR rarely gets the most throws his way and when he does it's because he is wide open . I would say maybe some vision as well .
