So, I currently have a LB that is at the soft cap and also has all of his equipment points in speed (59ish total right now). As such, I am about to purchase lvl 16 equipment.

Should I continue to upgrade speed?

If not, what is the 2nd most important attribute that should be taken to the soft cap next and also apply my equipment points to?

Put everything into speed, the whole point is you are saving skill points by not having to spend 2 or more points per attribute points. You'd be better right away by being more balanced, but it'll payoff long term to put all equipment in only 1 attribute

Wrong - because it depends on what you want to do in the long run.

Make up your long-term plan first. IF you plan to have speed at least 12 higher than any other attribute, you might as well go ahead and have all your lv. 16 bonus into speed. But if you want him to have like speed = agility (or strength, tackling... whatever), it makes no sense to have all equipment into one attribute. The game doesn't care if you pay 5 for one in speed or 5 for one in agility.

So equipment should form the "peak".

With the fact that they are nerfing speed with respect to acceleration, it might be a good idea if people with linebackers start to analyze what their agility is with respect to speed and factor in equipment upgrades.

To say you can never have enough speed...which is what I was about to post, would be a false statement. What I should say is you can never have enough acceleration.

So if you're quicker by adding agility as an equipment bonus, then do so. You haven't soft capped agility yet, though I assume along with vision.

Boost speed with equipment until you are sitting with 48+ across the board on speed, agility and vision.

Once you reach level 24, there should be enough folks with experience enough to tell you whether to keep adding speed or start throwing into something else, like agility or vision/strength.

Anyway, level 16 gear upgrades should still be going to speed, imho. Level 24 gear may be another story, however...I'm starting to question it now.

24 is a brutal level. I'm not going to lie to you guys. The equipment price is just outrageous, and it's really the level where you start DEFINING who you are as a LB. I've gone on to define myself as a Balanced LB favoring the run a bit. Now at this point in my players career, I'm continuing to add points equally over the board, training in CONF only. That way, I get more bang for my buck. If you try training on ANY of your higher level stats later in your career, you are fucked. You have to PUMP up your CORE abilities early and often. And then settle down and add points to other spots later.

agree with Z. Although I am a pass defense LOLB.

Strength: 28.49 Blocking: 15.52
Speed: 54.75 Tackling: 34.03
Agility: 57.29 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 20.76 Catching: 14.75
Stamina: 27.51 Carrying: 9
Vision: 42.66 Kicking: 7
Confidence: 23.48 Punting: 10

I train strength (to shed the TE block on HB runs), jumping occasionaly to help with PD's, and mostly confidence training for the playoffs. ROLB's are the LB's that really need the speed seeing they have to make plays on the other side of the field. I am experimenting with this agility > speed build for the following reasons.

1. It helps shed the TE block (who really murders me on HB run plays)
2. It now helps acceleration. Better to reach 50 speed quickly then 60 speed slowly.
I will post here after the first game.

10 points will be spread over stamina and vision after day 1 S4. I rarely dip below 85 stamina while playing LOLB and typically get 35 plays.

I would like to hear other peoples training and SP allocation for LOLB's and their results.

I'm actually a LOLB myself. I like the AGI over SPD thing. I'd really like to see how that works. My owner and main GM are two VERY VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE people about the GLB game. They have tremendously helped me with my build, but sometimes we get into arguments. Considering it's my LB, I've consistently tried to keep SPD and AGI relatively equally.

One thing I can tell you though Combatt, CONF is HUGE in being a LB and will become even bigger in following years. Penalties are coming up this year and whatnot, and you'll be facing tougher competition. So I'd get that CONF up big time by training it. I've gotten mine to around 30 and I just started making plays out my ass on the field.

Did you start making more tackles with > confidence or fumbles and interceptions? I did notice that after a couple days of training confidence my pass defense bar went up.

I was creating more tackles and PDs. I also landed a BIG FF late in a playoff game when I only caused one other FF the entire year. I didn't have any INTs the whole year. But CONF most certainly helped me out in all aspects of the game.

Nice dude. I will train confidence only until 30 then and compare my results with yours.

Definitely. PLUS! Penalties will be implemented next season. We don't want any consistent face masks do we?

I set my LB's tackling to "Horse-Collar."
