Hey all,

I just decided to make a CB. I got a fantastic roll. All 8s in the crap abilities. here is the Roll.

Strength: 10 Blocking: 8
Speed: 14 Tackling: 10
Agility: 13 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 14 Catching: 11
Stamina: 12 Carrying: 10
Vision: 13 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 10 Punting: 8

Plus hes 6'3 191 lbs.

I havent spent the SP yet. So theres still 15 there. I can also boost him the 3 times before the end of season.

How would you all suggest I build him? Do I boost? Think I should "soft cap"? Slow build? Any suggestion welcome.

Slow build

I don't like that slow build idea. Your here to have fun, and for your guy to have great games every time the team plays. Slow building doesn't sound like fun to me.

If hes your only player dont slow build him but remember, you got him for 10 seasons, you might as well use the first for development.

In my opinion I would train agility while softcapping speed asap then do the same with aligility and vision, and once you have vision over 20ish start training jumping/tackling/catching. probably in that order.

Keep agility with in 10 of speed. Soft cap speed first. Depending on how many guys you have determines whether you should slow build or not

slow build is stupid, it makes no big difference. Just up your speed/agility to begin with. Then keep adding to them along with a few in vision/stamina

No the only thing that determines it is what you want out of your player. You can have 2 players and decide to slowbuild one or have 100 players and decide not to slowbuild. If you want to see this guy develop well and you have patience then go ahead slowbuild. Its enjoyable. If you care about D-league stats and games then dont do it. I would only slowbuild up to about level 10 anyways.

Exactly after you reach around level 10 it does not make any difference at all. I'm trying it out right now with a CB; I don't care at all what he does at level 1-10. All I care about is making him better for the next ten levels when he can truly make consistent plays. I've seen it with my DE and many otheres; wrong placement of SPs early can hurt later on.

If you want to make a serious player, you'll need to be boosting. Do it in the offseason so you can get a few extra XP from what's left of daily training (train on relaxed so you don't spend too much money, as all trainings give the same daily XP). Also wait til you boost to sign with a D-League team; they'll give a level 4 a better contract. And, if you really want to maximize development, ALWAYS boost as late in the season as you can, ESPECIALLY in the first 2 seasons of play.

Another note - a lot of people still raise Stamina early on to try and get more playtime, but that's not how the D-Leagues work. All of the teams in em are set on 99/0 substitution settings, so the players are rotated through on every single play. Being higher on the depth chart (which is determined by level) will get you plays earlier in each posession, which will eventually lead to a few more plays per game than those lower on the DC, but that's the only difference in play count.

IMO you might as well slow build during your development season, as performance is pretty irrelevant and it'll pay off a little bit in the long run, but it's really up to you. Great roll, GL with it.

Dunno, possibly this season. The QB I made was getting swapped every play.
