O.K. I posted this in the rate my player section but then realized I'd much rather have people of the same position rate it then a mix of people who may never have had a safety, so I'm posting it here.

Lvl 11 coverage SS. I'll be lvl 12 before next season and then be able to boost 3 lvls. Am I on the right track or should I focus on something specific. Thanks in advance.

Str: 19.78
Speed: 44
Agil: 25.94
jump: 13.69
Stam: 30
vis: 30
Conf: 13.63
Tack: 23.98
Catch: 16.07
carry: 11.69

CA: 3/3/2/1/1
HHA: nothing atm.

Equipment:
body +2 speed
feet +2 speed
head +1 stam, +1 vision
hands +1 catch, +1 vision (realize now +1 to catching prob not the best and will be changing. I figured when making a SS that HEY he should be able to catch LOL)
Special +2 agil, +4 speed and +1 coverage tree

Also I've seen posts mention.. upping such and such to the soft cap, but haven't seen what the soft cap actually is.

EDIT: Nevermind on that last part, just read the builds post a little closer and saw that it is 48. Would still appreciate input on the build though. It appears there are split opinions on speed vs vision though, based on that post.

The soft cap is 48.0X, meaning that once you get a skill naturally (without equipment) up to that point, it costs 2 SP to raise it 1 point. The reasoning behind getting a skill soft capped early is so that you get more bang for you buck with the distributed skills you gain automatically upon level up. You can also add the majority of your equipment to that 'soft capped' skill to really get the most out of it.

As to your build -- lay off the SA for a while, you need to get your core attributes up a bit more. Definitely going to want more agility, probably a little more tackling with the changes coming next season. I'd suggest taking that stamina point off of equipment and putting it into spd/agi/vis, along with the catching one you mentioned. Other than that it looks fine. Focus on agility, keep upping vision, (speed a little bit, but thats just my personal opinion. Most will say more speed more speed )

You've got a good start going, just keep plugging away with it (aside from SA for a few levels

I would sale all your equipment and put it into one attribute...I would put everything you have in speed. Definitely look to increase tackling, train jumping slightly (as Bort mentioned), and look to improve confidence.

Thanks guys. Two questions, what are the tackling changes next season. I looked through the forums but couldn't find anything and the search function isn't currently working. Also, what is the reasoning for putting all my equipment points into one attribute, instead of spreading it among speed/vision/agil since all of those seem to be the agreed upon most important attributes. Although order of them is still hotly debated LOL.

The reasoning behind throwing all your equipment in one stat is to get the most bang for your buck. 2 SP for a 1 point upgrade, but you can throw your 12/16/however many points in equipment right on top of the base value. Your SP would be put to good use filling out your weaker areas, and the equipment will maximize the affect you'll get from your skill that is harder to increase with SPs. This is all opinion though, spreading it around can't hurt, but its best used on the soft capped(48.xx base value) skills. Just be sure on which way you want to go, as purchasing new equipment is costly at higher levels

As for the tackling changes -- Bort has stated that wrap up is getting a little bit of a decrease in effectiveness (I think), or rather that breaking tackles will become better. One of the two anyways, and more tackling is required to be sure you'll wrap someone up. Conversely, power tackling is getting a slight increase to force more fumbles too.
