Physical Attributes Football Skills
Strength: 22.5 Blocking: 14.5
Speed: 19 Tackling: 10.6
Agility: 19.5 Throwing: 9
Jumping: 10 Catching: 10.6
Stamina: 16.6 Carrying: 17.5
Vision: 18.6 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 13.6 Punting: 8

Currently looks like this at lvl. 4 with daily training set to speed for the time being. I'm looking at not touching my SA's until lvl 8, and then doing a point every level until I get the power skill tree looking good. For the next four levels I plan to add 2 to strength and speed every level and and 1 in agility at 5 and 6 agility, 1 in carrying at 7 and 1 then one into the Stamina at 8. From 8 on it will be 1 into Strength, Speed, Agility, and Alternating between Carrying, Vision and Stamina for the 4th point, while the 5th is reserved for SA improvement/Spot fixes. Daily Training will be used to improve blocking, until I feel my agility and vision are good. Probably at 40 for agility and 35 for vision, at which point I will devote SP to it.

Does this sound reasonable? I am a noob, but have played tons of rpgs before, so I am not entirely clueless about building a character, but it never hurts to have an outside opinion

It depends on some outside factors TBPH. Will your FB be getting a lot of carries (like 8+ a game) or will you be used as a blocker primarily? That plan is ok if you're going to be utilized as a rusher, but is horrible if you're going to be a blocker. Either way, you're going to be expected to block... you can do both, but you'll only be good at one of them and so-so at the other (or really good at one and really poor at the other).

Optimally, you want to be good at what you're going to do the majority of the time. This is why FBs with a runner build are fairly rare.

I am aiming for a rushing FB but I am aware that I need to not neglect blocking as well. I realize If I want to be good at rushing I'll have to sacrifice some blocking effectiveness, and that's fine, I don't mind not getting tons of pancakes, but being able to power through in short yardage and work as the power compliment to a elusive is what I'm aiming for. Looking from that prospective what do you suggest?

In that scenario...

Order of importance
Strength
Speed
Agility
Vision
Blocking
Carrying
Confidence

You'll want to get strength up as high as possible, since it helps both power running and blocking. Speed is important, because it effects both aspects as well. Agility is more of a running thing, but has some usefulness for blocking. Vision is pretty big as well, but it's like carrying, in that it doesn't have to be super high for a player to be effective (they just might miss holes or blocks on occasion, like fumbling a little more often with only a serviceable carrying). You will need some blocking, the higher the better, but you're sacrificing it a little to be a better runner. Confidence is also a stat that needs some attention overall, the higher the better, it'll help you shake off getting stuffed on a bad run (which happens a lot in this game).

Special ability trees should be a mixed bag, with a little more focus on offensive abilities.
