So, as everyone on the Chrisrex Chihuahua's knows I was a staunch advocate of Dean Houston.
I was immediately smitten by his repeated posts about bowing to his massive scrotum and stuck by my man through his "This isn't the game for me" stage.
Heartbroken by his departure, I continued to follow his career after being traded to the Ole Rebels. It's been a great year for Dean.
We only cared about the W and kept him from throwing his target 30+ passes a game. The Rebels had a different team strategy. They allowed Dean's arm to be free and he graciously lead them on an 11 and 2 run... What's that? Oh... correction 2-11.
But he stuck it out and didn't let it get him down. Dean opened season 3 lobing out 49 passes. Being a team player he only made 27 of them and allowed the kicker to be a hero with a 3-3 tie.
There followed a 4 game streak which was unfortunately broken with a game 6 12-3 win. Dean's efforts to help the team were limited to 15 attempted passes and 10 completions.
I can only assume that in the locker room after the game, Dean protested and got his team on track. He had his 30+ passes a game back and the they responded by winning 1 out of 8 games.
Now I know this happy story should come with a fairy tale ending and it does. Dean didn't get to play the last game of the season due to injury. An injury to his very soul. For that would have to be what it would take for such a dedicated GLB agent to be removed from the depth chart of the team he has lead for 1 and a half seasons.
The injury was so bad in fact that he has not even been to his office since June 30th. Repeated visits to Dean's agents homepage have turned up a clue to the nature of his injury...
