You're not tackling the QB on passing plays Spencer Duncan. <3

You could probably use a little more strength in addition to speed. You don't seem to be getting any hurries either so some more strength should help that.

You're not getting sacks because you aren't really good at anything. You are trying too hard to be good at everything, and ending up just being mediocre at all of it. You have 2 points of first step, paired with 37 speed... Are you expecting that to be enough to blow past OT's? How about 50 agility and 2 in change direction, Is that supposed to be enough to turn the corner on him? 16 blocking and 3 in shed block. Is that supposed to get you off blocks better? 5 in Tunnel Vision, but you never beat the OT anyways. 2 points into big sack, but you have 1 career sack?

Some of your choices don't even make sense.

I'll give you the same advice I give everyone else. Think about what you are doing first, then decide what you want to do, go through an OT, or around him. Then get better at doing that.

Strength based D-Linemen are ALOT easier to make than speed/agility ones. Strength is all you need, speed will help after a cerain point to get sacks instead of hurries, agility will help get there quicker, so will most of those abilities. Strong Base is key for a strength based guy.

Speed guys are harder, neither of mine has done much of anything yet, so I might not be the right guy to give advice on a speed based guy. But first you need the base speed to get to the QB on the longer looping route. Then you need the agility to be able to change directions and do that. First Step and Change Direction will help those two even more, so that you can beat the OT. And/or Shed Block will help you get off blocks when your stupid 30 strength DE runs right into the 70 strength OT for some reason. Vision also is supposed to help you get off blocks, AND vision helps your stupid DE see that giant 300 pound tackle standing 2 feet away, so he tries to go around once in a while. Blocking will help you get off the block better too. You need stamina, because you are going against stronger players all game long, which tires you out quicker. And confidence doesn't hurt because with low strength you are going to inevitably eat a pancake or two every game.

If you want production go with a strength based guy. If you want to be famous, figure out a speed/agility build that actually works. Either way, you go get all of your gear into 1 attribute, and stop trying to do everything. Focus on 1 thing, and be very good at that 1 thing.

Edon, shed block is more affected by agi and str than it is by blocking

Edon is right though.

str based is really easy to make.
look at the casey hampton thread. all str some agility then the rest is like < 30.
str based will apply good pressure for like the whole game

speed needs combination of agi, speed, good vision, stamina, and str. and speed rush can get very good (much faster than str) pressure on some plays but then disappears on other plays. but since i like a challenge im doing a speed build.

I see a few problems with you getting sacks. First, you are on an 0-16 team. Chances are the opposition has the lead and will run pretty much the second half. Not your fault, just hard to get sacks when the opposition is running out the clock. 2nd: you have too many points in special abilities. I would invest in your base stats. Speed and agility would help you the most. Even though you've hit the soft cap of 50 on agility, I'd keep pumping points into it. Agility not only controls change of direction, it also controls acceleration (which is important for a DE) I would also train confidence. I would hold off putting points into tackle. Just set your tactics to wrap-up tackling and you'll be fine.

Check out this guy: He had 30 sacks and 72 hurries
