San Jose… Following a close defeat against the LA Reign, the San Jose Chupacabra regained their playoff form with a 47-3 romp over the hapless Minden Musketeers. Quarterback Remo Rankin continued to show postseason worthy play passing for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns.

“Its good to get back in the win column. The LA game brought us back down to Earth a bit but we’ve got our spot to the dance lined up and we want to come in hot,” said Rankin.

The Chupacabra defence continues to show why they are one of the top defences in the league, allowing just a field goal to the Musketeers. Coach Jake Rawburst’s “bend-don’t-break” philosophy has surrendered just 138 points this season, third least in the western conference.

“Great defence is something San Jose is making a tradition of,” said nickelback Roscoe Coltraine, “We’ve been tested, we’ve been tossed on the fire, but we keep comin’ back for more.”

“But it don’t mean jack unless we get that championship,” Coltraine added.

San Jose next plays the Richmond Retros in their lone cross-conference game of the year.

“Richmond? Man, they ain’t (expletive),” said linebacker Demetrius McQueen, “Eastern Conference teams is soft man…ain’t got no soul….ain’t got no swagger. Westside baby…that’s where the teams hold it down.”

“Next week, we gonna be hittin’ Richmond so hard that by they wake up, they WILL be Retro.”
