Here's the playoff picture after 14 games.

The number in {brackets} next to each team is their "magic number." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_number_%28sports%29 ) Any combination of wins by your team or losses by the team you need to finish ahead of means you clinch a playoff spot.

EASTERN CONFERENCE
1 Akron Assassins 14-0 [CLINCHED TOP-2] {1 for conference title}
2 Alpine Golfers 13-1 [CLINCHED TOP-4] {1 for top-2 / 4 for conference title}
3 Chicago Bruins 12-2 [CLINCHED TOP-4] {1 for top-3 / 4 for #2}
4 Memphis Ghetto Dawgs 11-3 [CLINCHED TOP-5] {1 for top-4 / 4 for #3}
5 North Carolina Lighthouses 10-4 [CLINCHED TOP-7] {3 for top-4}
6 Tampa Vipers 8-6 {1 for playoff spot / 2 for #6 / 4 for #5}
7 New Orleans Eagles 8-6 {1 for playoff spot}
8 Klamath Falls Grizzlies 7-7 {2 for playoff spot}
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9 Schenectady Comets 6-8 {4 for playoff spot}
10 Philadelphia Brokebacks 6-8 {4 for playoff spot}

11 South Beach Tokers 5-9 [ELIMINATED]
12 Richmond Speed 5-9 [ELIMINATED]
13 Denver Stallions 4-10 [ELIMINATED]
14 Orlando Mambas 1-13 [ELIMINATED]
15 Elk Rapids Elks 1-13 [ELIMINATED]
16 The Forgotten One's 1-13 [ELIMINATED]

Akron has clinched a top-2 finish, while Alpine and Chicago have each clinched a top-4 finish for home field in the 1st round.

Memphis versus North Carolina is a key game tonight. If Memphis wins, they clinch a top-4 finish and have a chance to steal the 3-seed from Chicago. If North Carolina wins, they would just need either one more win or a Memphis loss to steal the 4-seed.

At the other end, South Beach, Richmond and Denver are eliminated

WESTERN CONFERENCE
1 San Diego Marauders 13-1 [CLINCHED TOP-5] {1 for top-3 / 2 for conference title}
2 Albuquerque Mustangs 12-2 [CLINCHED TOP-6] {1 for top-5 / 2 for top-2}
3 Anchorage Seawolves 12-2 [CLINCHED TOP-6] {1 for top-5}
4 Omaha Dogs 11-3 [CLINCHED TOP-7] {1 for top-5}
5 Reno 911 11-3 [CLINCHED TOP-7] {1 for top-6 / 2 for top-5}
6 Chattanooga Quarantine 10-4 [CLINCHED PLAYOFF SPOT] {1 for top-7 / 2 for top-6}
7 Hyborian Divine Messengers 9-5 [CLINCHED PLAYOFF SPOT] {2 for top-7}
8 Rocky Mountain Rampage 8-6 [CLINCHED PLAYOFF SPOT] {3 for top-7}
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9 San Francisco Wildcats 6-8 [ELIMINATED]
10 Houston Apollos 6-8 [ELIMINATED]
11 Kalamazoo Wolverines 4-10 [ELIMINATED]
12 Oakyville Nungas 3-11 [ELIMINATED]
13 Dakota Ruffians 2-12 [ELIMINATED]
14 Trojan Warriors 2-12 [ELIMINATED]
15 Corvallis Furburgers 2-12 [ELIMINATED]
16 Ambridge Bridgade 1-13 [ELIMINATED]

San Diego lost to Albuquerque! That makes things interesting up top, as San Diego will now need to win their final 2 games to clinch the conference title.

In the meantime, the 8 playoff teams are now locked in, as San Fran, Houston and Kalamazoo have all been eliminated. At this point, it's all just jockeying for position to get the best possible seedings.

That was a great game North Carolina. You really had our QBs number. I think our teams were very evenly matched and it really could have gone either way.

Edit: I think we're probably gonna have a rematch in a few days, so we can expect another great game.

What?! Your welcoming a NC rematch and not an Akron rematch? Man you disappoint!
