Kicking is the most important skill for a kicker. High confidence and calm nervers will lead to consistancy. Big goot and strenghth help with power. Kicking, calm nervers and vision help accuracy. speed agility and jumping help with kicking mechanics. Your stamina only needs to be trained once every week or so once you reach about level 10. Automatic stops "horrible misses" and helps with extra points.

My player's a punter, so my advice probably isn't 100%, but since they're similar, it should give you an idea of what you need.

From what Ive read, the big four are

Kicking, Confidence, Strength, and Vision.

I saw a post where Bort said that Agility does in fact help kicking, but I think I'm going to focus on these 4, in that order, until I start getting to some soft caps.

What are soft caps? Is that like the limit for your level or something?

I would put all of your equipment on kicking. Its the most important attribute for a kicker. Get it to 49 and put all equipment on it. Also would get strength, confidence, and vision up to 49 also.

Soft caps are the number that you should get the most import attributes to. 1 Kicking, 2 Vision, 3 Confidence, and 4 Strength.

There are different points at which attributes cost more. You will hit your first at 48 in a particular skill. At that point you will have to spend 2 points to advance the skill 1 point. Kicking from 48-49 = 2 skill points. I am not sure when/if there is another one, but that is my "basic" understanding of it.

This is my recommendation for your low level Kicker:
Get your Kicking to 48, before equipment bonuses. Put ALL of your equipment bonuses into Kicking. After that, when you level, go 2 Vision, 1 Kicking, 1 Str and then 2 Confidence, 1 Kicking, 1 Str. Once you get your kicking to around 70 focus on getting Confidence and Vision to 48, if they aren't already there. While doing this make sure to Train your Agility, Speed and Jumping to 17-20 (do not spend actual skill points on these, use your daily training to get these to 17-20). Once your Vision and Confidence are at 48 you should have a respectable build that is fairly even and will bring you consistent results.

I have more experience punting, so don't take my word. I just figure the math works out better this way. =P

it costs 1 SP to increase an attribute by 1, until you hit 48 (actually, think it's like 48.06), then it costs 2SP to raise it one pt until you hit 60 (i think 60. there's a post somewhere). then 3SP til next cap, then 4, etc...
