hey guys, just need a bit of build advice and if I should ask to move to another position.

Physical Attributes Football Skills
Strength: 23.64 Blocking: 13.25
Speed: 57.13 Tackling: 26.31
Agility: 35.55 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 13.25 Catching: 13.25
Stamina: 30.89 Carrying: 9
Vision: 28.69 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 19.29 Punting: 7

SAs:
0-0-0-0-0
1-1-1-1-1 (good 'ol custom boost)

He is level 14 and will be boosting here in a bit (next few days).

I was thinking cranking up the Shed Block ability with all of my boost points but should I wait and get some of my other stats to be closer to the soft cap?

i would say get str and agi up to fight through blocks.

Your strength is a bit low to be using the shed block ability
You should boost strength a bit more to make shed block more useful

I thought Shed didn't affect strength at all. I know Strong Base from the Dline SAs directly affects it, but Shed Block could be just chance alone.

Thanks for the opinion, can't wait to creep to level 18 tomorrow after the final game and boosting.

AGI and VIS. AGI to come off the ball quicker. AGI is the KEYYYY to blitzing. If you can beat your man off the ball every time you will almost always get to the QB. Bump up that AGI and you will be creating HAVOC in the backfield brother.

Agree with Zsirvone, Agility is a big help in pass rush. Looking at your build, I'd say Agility and Vision need the work when you have the points. I haven't built a strictly pass-rushing Lb though, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the pass-rushing SA's, but I usually favor building attributes first and filling in SA's later on, simply because I'd prefer to be stronger on most plays instead of just when the SA's kick in.

Its' what I thought but I thought its' the time to really think of making the turning point to make him a lot more dominate.

I thought of him as more of a blitz focused LB that can cover if needed. So agility to soft cap is good and vision will be important to becoming a better play reader/pass focused LB? Alrighty secondary stat.

I will let some of you guys know on his effectiveness. He has been moot playing up about 7-9 level above him starting on my team. Still managed 1 sack and avges I think 2-4 tackles a game.

I really think AGI will help you become a really really good pass rusher. I wouldn't spend points in your SAs until around level 18 to 20 to be honset. AGI is just going to help you in all aspects of the game right now. Fighting off of blocks, Covering, Blitzing, and coming off the snap quicker. I'm a firmmmm believer in Attributes before SAs just because Attributes help you out much much more than any SAs.

Seems Zsirv and I are of the same opinion on many of these questions. Perhaps you'd be better served with some differing views, but it looks like we're the only ones on now, so I hope we're helping.

Well, I am seeing less results than a MLB I play with that backs up. He has 40ish speed and agility with mid 30s in strength and about 2 deep in Hard Hitter SAs. Not many more sacks but more than I get and more tackles than I get.

I really think keeping the Agility to Speed ratio closer together is a big help. With all of those points you are about to pour into him (and with your boosts for next season), I'd suggest working Agility, Vision, and Strength toward 40+ and chipping away at the SA's as you go.

Something I am testing is how effective strength really is to a pass rush build LB. The reason my speed was so high is I moved it to the soft cap immediately to do the classic min/max beginning to take advantage of natural SP growth on speed.

I will work strength last and if I feel results are better with focusing on SAs is worth the investment more than strength.

I am a firm beliver in attributes over SAs. I mean, I'm level 24 right now and I really haven't spent too many points into my SAs. I'm getting all of my core attributes to the soft cap before I start spending any points in my SAs. That's just how I feel is the right way to do it. Do what you want though, I'd love to compare ideas.

I'd get a little more in agility, and get your speed to 65+. You'll need more vision to be an effective LB, IMO, but with advanced defensive tactics coming next season... a situational blitzer could have uses. Shed block gets better and better the more you put points into it. Because you're generally going to be shedding the TE, I've found that it isn't AS effective as if you were a DE... but it's still worth having.
