Hey folks,

I have read alot of the stuff in this forum and it always seems that everyone has their own opinions on things. SO I figured I would see what everyone thinks would be the best route to go for my upcoming WR:

Here is his link: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=635018

Speed will be capped today w/ 3 points left over. I have agility currently at 20. I want to make a speedster who is a great route runner and who can pick up YAC.

My idea is to soft cap speed/agility first, then go back and bring up catching and vision. Agility should be soft capped by 9/10. After this I was thinking about really just dosing up on first step and quick cut both to at least 5+ once I get to around lvl 14/15.

My next idea would be at higher levels to work spin up since it seems like head fake and juke will be less effective facing high lvl secondaries.

My ultimate goal with this was to have a quick crisp reciever who had potential for the YAC.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly apprecaited.

My suggestion would be to throw 3 SP into whatever your trying to max out, and take the other 2 for First Step, Q-Cut, Route Run. Those create seperation the best and if you get open quicker you get the ball quicker, thus giving you more opportunity for YAC.

So if you want "quick crisp reciever who had potential for the YAC." That would be the way I would go.

I am not concerned with seeing results right out of the gates. I was working under the pretense that it was best to hold off on SA's until higher level. Am I incorrect in this assumption?

I would say you are correct . use SPs on your attributes first off so you can cap your skills faster , then when you've capped out at least speed/agility and have decent catching/vision you could start pumping up SAs , Quick Cut/First Step/Route Running , which will make you able to get seperation .

To be honest, I would take every stat you want to get to the soft caps there before you put a single point into specials.

Hmmm interesting.

So if I wanted to cap Speed/Agility/Catching/Vision in that order, assuming each was trained to 20, it would take a maximum of 116 SP's. Thats about 20 levels. But you would also get your bonus's to stats each level so most likely around 19 lvls. I might try that out.

That's going to be 20 levels where you probably suck since you can't outrun a level 13 CB...but you might be an adequate possession guy...maybe.

I think you misunderstand. I am not talking abour "storing" sp's to lvl 20. I am saying get to lvl 20 w/o doing any SA's. I am lvl 5 and with no equipment I have 49 speed and 24 agility. We are talking about soft capping 4 stats.

I think you could be a pretty good allround build if you capped the 4 stats , I would do it

Meanwhile I would train jumping or strength .

Even stamina if you don't get enough plays .

I would actually focus on what CBs are currently doing, and then find a way to use it against them. If you just build up the main stats, your WR won't be anything special, and many decently built CBs will be able to hang with him.

You need to establish a clear cut advantage - there are ways.

I don't think I misunderstand. What do most CBs soft cap first? Speed. You're going to be the same speed as a low level CB while you soft cap the rest of those attributes.
