...in response to his last comment about generations of self-made ringers...

lol
So do you always go through life looking for the shortcuts?

I just had this thought, you remind me of Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting. The part where Ben Affleck at the end is so frustrated to see the hints and glimpses of what he is potentially capable of, yet he takes the easy road out and doesn't want to challenge himself and is content with being a lowly construction worker instead of at least taking a chance to be one of the great ones. Maybe it's not in your destiny to have a true dynasty, maybe it's not within the cards or within your abilities, but you won't know for sure unless you just try man. Who knows, maybe you really have what it takes to build a good program.

It don't terribly matter to much to me, but in some little way it does. Because you have a popular name in the game, you have some real potential to compete with me and possibly be a rival and try to counteract the dynasty that I'm creating. But with the self made ringers in play, you'll never truly accomplish anything on the same plane of competitiveness as me, and I find that somewhat discouraging for myself because I lose the potential for a top flight competitor to keep me on my game.

That's why I gave a shoutout to Kzoo in the other thread, because that guy is doing it the balls to the walls right way. He's playing some legit man to man GLB MMORPG and he's got a solid franchise that stands for true gamesmanship. I wish there were more elite owners in the game so that I would have more of a crowd to challenge me and our team.

It's just like the HoggLife victory yesterday, yes he won the game, but he beat at nothing. All you do with your ringers is short change yourself. If Kzoo beat us year in and year out, well those are high respect wins to him in my book, but to a team that has his own ringers and takes the easy way out without managing a true football team, that will never mean anything to me if those squads pull off victories.

So hopefully more owners follow in this train of thought and the game will have an ever growing contingency of these true gamers, so that I can see how well our dynasty here matches up with the other legit contenders as opposed to the pretenders.

Don't worry, your superior understanding of logic and strategy should prevail over a measly 6 players, no?

Did I miss the call out in there?

He pays his money.
He can play how he wants.

And he beat you.

So, two losses down the line and the guy that "doesn't really care about the regular season" (paraphrased) is looking for outs:
He's using ringers.
He boosted.

In another thread about your loss to the Warpath you said you played the odds with regards to not boosting. Well, bully for you. Works most of the time. Just be prepared to say 'GG' when it doesn't and not turn into a 13 year old who thinks that everything is SO UNFAIR !!

It's funny, but for somebody who calls himself "The Strategy Expert" to try and call somebody else to the mat for daring to ... wait for it... have a long term strategy just seems silly.

To add to that, you claim to be into game theory. Well, by having his own farm of players, he reduces chemistry hits, gains cohesiveness with regards to training and depth. He's eliminating variables and able to follow his vision more closely. The more variables you have at each move in the game, the less moves ahead you can see. He's getting an edge, and more power to him.

I mean sheessh.. that TSE has sooooooooo much (game) money, he can hire practically any player he wants and pay him silly money. How is THAT fair ?
Meanwhile Harper apparently has a trust fund that allows him to spend real money on GLB

You look after your own team; leave the other owners to do likewise.

Oh, and you really need to win "The Big One" before you can even start to talk about 'dynasty'.

Uhh good comments but you are missing the point...

He pays money and he can play how he wants to??? No kidding! That's fine. Whatever keeps him entertained is his prerogative.

But beating me? Yeah he beat me, he beat us in that game. I give him credit for the win indeed. But I don't give him props. Credit and congratulations, yes, props, no. You gotta earn those with me, not win those in a sim.

I can hire any player I want with money? How about the last 50 guys I tried to buy with max contracts and max bonuses to that shut me down? You have no idea how many players can't be bought with money. I don't even TRY to hire people with many any more, it doesnt work effectively to recruit them that way.

But my money wasn't a gift or a ringer, I came in after the first generation of users and I built the money up with tactics in the game and did it with sheer strategy and technique and by being clever.

Another lame attempt for TSE to look cool and belittle someone else. I would totally chime in with a well thought out rebuttal, but there is no point. Have fun though with your thread, I am sure Hogglife will chime in to keep you amused.

I did just want to add one thing though, what the heck is the difference in earning a win in a sim and getting a win in a sim? Sounds like the wookie defense from southpark.

Please. 6 players out of a squad of how many?
You amassed the money by optimizing the stadium building/tickets concessions no doubt. You figured it would give you an edge down the line. It still may. That was you gaming it.

So you can't hire people with all that money, eh? I seem to recall a thread not so long ago where you boasted that the money allowed/will allow you to do just that.
Seems like the strategy backfired somewhat.

It's just a coincidence that there's an 'excuse' for both your losses.
Your wins however, were due to your supreme tactical and strategic knowledge.

.. and then there is the calling out to play a "Man's Game" where you whine, and then say that you're not giving props to those that beat you?

Ego alert !

Earning a win is by getting it with outgaming me. By beating me with the challenge of the game, i.e. the players you recruited, the tactics you set, the 100 tangible and intangible components of the game.

But you have a giant chunk that is not subject to the inherent challenges of various constructs within the game in the form of your own "ringers" as I have referred to them, thus you can win games all day and every year, but you aren't earning them in the "art of gaming" in my eyes.

Now you can pretend I don't exist, and thus nothing is changed for you then, you can win a lot of regular season games, make some playoff wins, gather some trophies, and you can feel accomplished, but they won't be filled with my accreditation. Easy enough to dismiss that and say it's not relevant, and i don't contend that you should care for that, just saying in my book you haven't accomplished much until you earn that from me.

A team like KZoo, they could earn that. It would be tough and unfortunate to see our team go to the final game and loose and have to see them walk off with the glory, but I'm a good sport and I will extend them my full honors for they would have achieved a victory in the "art of competition".

So yeah the trophies will look the same to everybody on the site either way, just not how I value them, which to me a validated trophy earned by another team that took it from me is worth 10x more if it has substance within it.

Self made ringers, what in the fuck is that?

Sorry TSE, but you've lost all right to call people out after you refused to bet me not once, but twice. Shows you have no faith or balls in your own team yet you come in here to pick on Tim Harper who kicked your ass?

I can't imagine a better way for that game to have ended than my two arch rivals in a tie ball game, but Tim beat you so kindly shut up and take it to the playoffs where it really matters.

Don't call people out when you get called out and back down twice yourself, big fella.

I'm extremely confused. Is he referring to Tim's six players on the team?

Boasting about money is part of the game, it's all earned material within the confines of the plays I've made, not the self-born riches that I ride on the coattails of.

Every win we get is a special and glorious win because they are functions without these said compromises to the art of the game or the nature of unblemished, unbiased, and truly genuine competitor-ship.

^^If I'm not mistaken, didn't Tim do all of the above?

Recruiting - check
Tactics Set - check

Flames, your first proposed bet was ridiculous and uneven. I don't recall the second bet. Remind me of it again?

Oh, and I'd like to say that I couldn't care less about owner's and their players. I just want to play the damn game.

FLAMES HAHA... LOL thanks for making an appearance but I'm not going to comment on your comment beyond saying that you don't remotely deserve a response, because just in your very few sentences above you are stating mistruths and inaccuracies on a number of things.

So feel free to erase it all and write something that isn't fundamentally incorrect in more than 3 ways so that we can have a logical discussion, or you get no response from me.
