Sorry Mystico, I respect what you did but I gotta ask this question. Do you think that the reason you lost the game was that your CB was allowing the opposing QB to pass AT his WR? Biggest thing to remember is the more stats a secondary player has, the worse job he actually did....
he was on the other team, and he was all over the field. one of his fumble recoveries was even in the backfield.
I understand, played, and coached football, Trust me, under normal circumstances, when a DB leads in tackling, I go ballistic (unless a SS like Troy or Sanders).
Feel free to pop on the box score and play by play..this guy was awesome for Colorado.. I was more concerned about their awesome DT, but out OL took care of him. He was a surprise, and a pleasure to watch.
If the team loses, who cares what kind of stats a person puts up?
I played goalkeeper in soccer for a long time and set league and regional records with 23 saves (legitimate, not touches) in a game. My team lost. Nobody, including myself, cared about that record. Why would we care about defensive abilities and stats when they don't result in a win?
You think Jean Sebastien Giguere felt better in 2003 about winning the Conn Smythe trophy but losing the Cup in 7 to New Jersey? Get out. It's more of an insult to say, you're the best player, but you lost.

Well, mainly no because myself and 19039 other fans almost jumped in the ice to give the trophy to Marty who had just shattered the shutout record for not only the finals, but the entire postseason. Yes, we boo'd the oversized pad wearing punk, is was more booing the sportswriters than the guy who let up a ton of goals the the series they just lost. He was awesome in the western playoffs though, but as the chant goes.. "Mar-Ty's Bet-Ter"
As for did he feel good, no, maybe, BUT, others have been deserving (when Hextall won his..holy dogshit he was amazing that year)
Anyway, I started this because the guy playing us had an amazing game, to be kind and give credit where it is due.
IF a pitcher throws 3 8 inning shutouts in the world series, but his team loses, should he not get the award?

yeah, but he wasn't the best player A) Marty was B) SCOTT Neidermeyer lead in scoring for the postseason
He should, but you're more so talking Roy Halladay throwing a complete 8 innings and allowing 2 unearned runs in a 2-1 loss. Yeah all the numbers are awesome, but he lost.
