i know its been said that strength = LDE and agil = RDE. but is it better to have one substantially higher than the other, or will a mix of both work just as well?

ive got +4 agil/+2 speed on 2 pieces of equipment, and my strength is only at 49 (at level 18). should i redo those 2 pieces into strength and put my custom equip (when i buy it) into strength?

this would put my strength at about 61. but playing RDE, im not sure if i want to max out strength or agil or make both fairly high.

i guess the choices are:

49 strength / 35 speed / 58 agil

or

55 strength / 33 speed / 54 agil

and 6 more from custom equip into either strength or agil... but which?

55 strength / 33 speed / 60 agil with the custom is where I'd go with the build.

My thinking is that you won't out-strength your opponent but must have enough to be competitive with them. On the flip-side I think it is possible to out-agility them and combined with some SA's makes the difference.

i'm in a very competitive league, and so far, with 58 agility, i haven't seen anything except locking up with an OT every play... not getting pancaked, but not trying to rush around or be able to break through either.

by the way, the next 2 levels i get will be going into speed, so no need to tell me my speed is too low... i'm workin on that

vision would help you. and shed block special
i had agi a little higher that str for most of the season i didnt do crap. then i pumped up my agility and with an 18 point diff between agility and str (agi being the higher one), i got 3 hurries right away.

ive got almost 30 vision, should be plenty for a dlineman. hell, the qb is in the same damn spot every time, how well does you vision have to be to know to run by the 300 pound blob in front of you and not through him?

i could get my agil all the way up to 66, with str/speed being 49/32. but the one thing i don't have is alot in shed block, only 2.

is agi that good without the str?

I'm guess you need strength to get off a blocker, but agility to accellerate past them (with more speed than the blocker has, not that many O-linemen have over 20-25 speed) to avoid getting reblocked

agi and str to disengage the blocker (in other words, beat) speed to get to the QB and it also helps disengaging

agi helps you run around the block, avoiding it, str allows you to run through the blocker and avoid the pancake. I'd go with the first choice and throw an extra 6 agi onto the custom.

Vision also helps with shedding blocks... seeing what the o-lineman is doing to block you.

what irritates me the most is the fact that 3/4ths of the time, my guy either runs right into the LOT or doesn't even engage him.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=10198225

is that low morale? low speed? need even more agility?

i could overpower him with strength i guess, or i could go agility. but right now, i've got a mix of both, and it seems, by that replay, that it doesnt matter which cause he's not even engaging. he's just doing a dance in front of the OT.

i'm perplexed.

God speed is so underrated for DE's. Once i got mine to around 50 with my agility around the same, my DE started running right round the blockers, sometimes three at a time.
