If someone has blazing speed it means they have most likely forgotten other attributes. Instead of trying to outrun everyone who is dumping points into speed also, go for vision, catching, jumping, and so on. Well rounded wins over dumping points into one attribute every time.
But many Mods have already said that it's not good to make a "one/two"-skill guy so I think one of these days those "90 speed , 10 catching , 10 vision WRs" will wake up and see how much he really isn't that much of a stud .
No, it doesn't. Have you seen the build with 80 something speed and either high 20s or low 20s in everything else and they have very good stats? I have.
But I know these guys are effective , I'm just saying , maybe if they put those 20 SPs they spent on speed on another skill - would that have made a better WR ?

I'm sure there are a few of them. There are a couple problems though.
1) Once everyone starts doing this everyone will have 80 speed and you wont be able to outrun everyone.
2) Bort will make so many changes each season balance will win out even if you assume speed rules now.
From experience my build is pretty balanced, and I'm fourth in my league in receptions (81) first in yards (897) among the leaders in yards per catch, and for the first five games of the year my team was a running team.
Only Bort really knows though. Just trying to share that from experience balance wins out. I'm sure with speed you make a few more big plays, but consistency is just as important.
He had his build open a little while back and had mostly speed and was dominating. I'm makin a speedster but I'm not totally neglecting everything else. I have catching at 20 and am gonna get agility and stamina at 20 and then go back to speed. I wanna have dominating speed and decent at everything else, not crazy ridiculous speed and very bad at everything else.
I know a balanced person will do really good as well, I'm not saying they won't, I just think that a balanced guy and a speedster guy have the pros and cons.
Speed is most definitely not overhyped. Nor will it be next season. If anything, Bort will make adjustments and everyone's going to jump on the agility bandwagon. We'll have slow wide receivers, but because agility's at 60, they'll be able to make those cuts just as slow as their top speed.
If you're making a speed WR, your top priority is...speed.
But without agility the CB will catch up with you once you cut .
At least that's my take on it .
Edit: To comment on the above , yeah never said it wasn't important . I myself have around 60 speed with equip. but I don't think anymore is really necessary if you only have like 25 agility ?

I agree. No-one here knows enough about how it works to say what is best aside from Bort.
Part of it depends on the type of players you go against too. Trust me speed is important, from what I've heard though once you reach the soft cap 60 overall speed isnt much better than 55 overall. It's definitely important to reach the cap at the very least.
