I see a lot of people speculating about what attribute is linked with Aura, Snarl, and Defense Gen. Some say it's confidence. Can any LB with high confidence shed some light on this maybe or at least tell us how confidence has been working out for you? I want to know if it's a good long-term training investment for my linebacker.

Bort has already said that some SA's are completely independent of any individual stat, and act on their own. I would imagine at least Aura would be completely independent, and probably D-Gen, too. Snarl and a few of the others would make sense to be linked with confidence, though, but it's impossible to say, since Bort hasn't really said anything about confidence other than it's the most underrated attribute in the game.

Yeah I'm one of the people who think Aura is an independent SA, but I've been training confidence lately, and have noticed I'm making tackles from really far away it seems...and not diving tackles either.

Confidence could be viewed as making your Lb better overall to use his attributes to the best of his ability.
For example my lb a few days ago got a slight increase in pass defense scouting bar from 30 to 33 after training confidence one night. While other abilities may make your pass defense bar increase at a higher rate, confidence has a certain X factor since its pretty vague on how it completely works.
To test that it did actually increase I created and then retired a lb and put all points into confidence and increased its overall attribute in the scouting bar.

Oh wow, really? I like that (and your avatar), but I'm going to experiment with it a bit as well to see what happens with my LB.

That's not even implied. It seems pretty clear in the SAs that you need more points in them to be effective against higher level QBs.
I am finally starting to come around and wonder if confidence is something I should spend more time working on, though. I'm finally adding some to my Center and RB, and I'm looking to start training it more often on my LB once I get my tackling where I want it to be.
