First Step
This player has a very fast reaction time. The First Step skill gives him a boost to acceleration when starting from a dead stop. This skill is very important for players who rely on speed to get separation from defenders. Additional levels increase the chance of the skill working, and the boost to acceleration.
Pro: Pure speedsters should be able to fly by many corners, especially if coverage distance is close.
Con: Works only once per play (usually)
Quick Cut
Gives the player the ability to change direction quickly without losing much speed. This skill is very important for quick players who rely on speed and agility to avoid tackles. Additional levels: The angle at which a player can make the cut increases, while the speed lost in making the cut decreases.
Pro: More than half of the routes require cuts, so quick cut should help with separation (and possibly elusion) from defenders.
Con: Common sense says that Quick Cut is activated by agility. In some circles, agility is thought to be unnecessary for speedster WRs.
Route Run
The Route Running skill allows the receiver to run precision routes with ease. The receiver will get a bonus to speed and agility when running a route. This skill is very important for receivers who are otherwise not very fast or agile. Additional levels increase the bonus toward running routes.
Pro: Appears to give the most consistent production based on the description.
Con: Many speedster WR's long TDs are on a fly pattern, which doesn't seem like it would be helped too much by Route Run.
What SA do you think would work best for a speedster WR?
