Choices
-First Step
-Quick Cut
-Route Run

First Step
This player has a very fast reaction time. The First Step skill gives him a boost to acceleration when starting from a dead stop. This skill is very important for players who rely on speed to get separation from defenders. Additional levels increase the chance of the skill working, and the boost to acceleration.
Pro: Pure speedsters should be able to fly by many corners, especially if coverage distance is close.
Con: Works only once per play (usually)

Quick Cut
Gives the player the ability to change direction quickly without losing much speed. This skill is very important for quick players who rely on speed and agility to avoid tackles. Additional levels: The angle at which a player can make the cut increases, while the speed lost in making the cut decreases.
Pro: More than half of the routes require cuts, so quick cut should help with separation (and possibly elusion) from defenders.
Con: Common sense says that Quick Cut is activated by agility. In some circles, agility is thought to be unnecessary for speedster WRs.

Route Run
The Route Running skill allows the receiver to run precision routes with ease. The receiver will get a bonus to speed and agility when running a route. This skill is very important for receivers who are otherwise not very fast or agile. Additional levels increase the bonus toward running routes.
Pro: Appears to give the most consistent production based on the description.
Con: Many speedster WR's long TDs are on a fly pattern, which doesn't seem like it would be helped too much by Route Run.

What SA do you think would work best for a speedster WR?

First step. It's the very first SA as well so it can be maxed out pretty quickly.

Agreed. Although I think route run with good agility can be lethal as well.

I'm pretty much experimenting with my WR and I'm not really worried if he does really good. Anyway, I'm gonna get my first step to 6, and with custom equipment to 7, when I boost next season.

Just look at my WR. He only has 3 into first step and 2 into quick cut. But he is still dominate. Against CB around his lvl and higher. When I boost him I will prolly have around 75 speed and 5 into First step.

I wish I were a slot receiver...

So, instead of spending 15 SP to boost my speed 5 points at the start of next season, I should spend the 15 SP getting as much into First Step as I can? (Pretend those are the only 2 options for using my SP)

Thanks. If I use my 15 SP in it when I boost, I can get it up to 7 (8 w/ equip), so I'll be interested in hearing about the results.

I'm only level 6 in D-leagues and have played 4 games so I'll compare it to those and watch some replays and tell you what kinda of difference I noticed. Offensive players (beside QB and O-Line) are my favorite to experiment with because they vary so much. Defensive players don't really differ too much.

I would also like to hear how it works out for you when putting your first step that high , I just think it's maybe going a little too far to put all 15 SPs on first step , depending on your speed/agility ?

If you don't have the speed/agility to do it , it will be rather useless IMO .

That's not true. Bort has already stated that some SAs don't need a physical attribute to be used.

Anyway, I'll tell you how it goes.

My bad , never heard that .

But did he also mention that first step was one of them or ?

Nah he just said that he doesn't know why everyone thinks all the SAs require a certain amount of a physical attribute.

The CBs my team is going against don't have even close to the amount of speed I have. This game should get me some big numbers.
