Would I be correct in assuming that Blitzing linebackers if they are set up correctly, with the special & vet abilities like pass rusher, technique man, blitz, disguise blitz etc..can't easily get high sack numbers like DEs for example.

my problem with blitzing lbs is that if they are set to blitz it locks them into an inside blitz position.

DE don’t get big sack numbers at pro. Those that lead in sacks tend to handicap run defense. Lb can get a few, but cb tend to be the best.

I've never had an issue getting Blitzing LBs good sack/ hurry numbers. What you have to be mindful of is getting run over on the edges by backs with any kind of strength.

A Blitzing CB is your best best unless you play at lower levels only, then PRDE is your best bet.

I hate this as well. Blitz into the heart of the line! I'm sure that will go well with all the speed and agility.

Shift them strong or weak and blitz from an OLB position

I should be able to triple mug the A gap and completely overload it! Like Jim Johnson used to do

Blitzing LBs dont get the sacks like specialist CBs.... However in GLB sacks are not as game changing as pressure. Pressure causes the pass timing and accuracy to suffer....Far more likely to cause INTs. The fact that you can use them inside can be a positive espcially if theirs a scat FB/PHB backfield. and the O runs inside. For it to be a factor usingboth CB and LB pressure can disrupt the bread and butter plays that settle for 3-4 yds a pop

OP I think was posting about blzLB, not in terms of Pro level elite dots, but how best to beat up D league teams? All their dots are D-League'd, and the other posts were referencing getting more sacks, stopping their DE from flaring out to the flats, etc.

LB in D League, will get some from MLB position. Try to make sure you're the top LB, I'm not 100% sure if it's who signs first, or if it gets sorted on PVal? But there's a lot more MLB blitzes, than LOLB or ROLB in the D league 'casual' AIs being used, in my experience.

None of them, will put up numbers like a pass rush oriented DE, since those blitz on ALMOST every play in D-League AIs, and get to go wide around the edges. LB blitzes are the exception, not the rule in D leagues. The MLB blitzes tend to be either strong side A gap, more of a 'run blitz' against heavy formations, and weak side B gap, back off the line - blitzing against 5 wide shotgun. You'd want to build it similar to a pass rush DE, but even faster - and it's never going to put up numbers like one of them, no ...
